Sweetwater Teams of the early 70s

Old Pirate says sweetwater was very tough under coach King Berrong and is curious if there is any former wildcats posting that can add some comments about the teams and players? OP remembers watching them & wonders what has happened to Sweetwater? They were a perenial power in the 70s.

Sweetwater can't expect to have the talent they had through the late 60's and early 70's to happen again. That was a very special group with Kippy and Anthony Oggs. Hard to ever have talent like that again.

Old Pirate thought Steve Berrong went into coaching. I think perhaps Don Grider was interested in him as an assistant after his graduation. Anyone know where these guys are?

Steve was the coach at Madisonville a few years ago,also helped with Sequoyah this spring. We were all hoping to have him this season. With him a very good staff would be excellent. Unfortunately,it was not to be.
