What you lack in ability to punctuate, you more than make up for in razor-sharp wit! I like it canfan72.

What I don't like is the high possibility of you forgetting the way to the stadium and getting lost on your way there from your home. Look, don't be proud, ask a West fan for a ride. There's no need to be afraid of those new-fangled "horseless carriages." It's not black magic, it's an internal combustion engine. And those green scraps of paper? That's right, money. Let them buy you a ticket, don't risk getting caught jumping over the fence!

I hope you make it, I really do.

Game over--congratulations to West on the win.

East was over coached as East never made any adjustment

to beat the West defense. Passing game was non exantant.

No short drop back passes across the middle which was wide

open. West loaded the line and had line backers posted out

side of both ends which prevented any sprint out passes or

runs. They had East trying to run counters with the line stacked

in the middle and staying at home.

West did not show much offense either. Both teams had several

individuals who played very good.

East does not have a QB who can throw a sprint out pass. Very few

high school QB's can do that. I have said enough about this game.

I hope East prepares to handle the goal line defense the will face

the rest of the season

It is obviuos that some guys are not going to step up. East needs to find 11 guys who will play football every down and let them go both ways.

East's has so many problem on offense were do you start. I know Morristown West was stacking

line, but our offensive line got whipped. When the defense is in the backfield as soon as you get the snap,

you have a problem on that line. Hatcher needs to look at new personnel on the offensive line, or move

them around on the line. This line has had some good games early this year. We all know our problem

with passing the ball, but the offensive line needs to give the QB's more time.

We still have a very good defense, if we can do anything on offense.

Note: I really like the power set at the start of the game on offense. We just need to get more speed at

the TB postion. # 26 runs hard and has good speed, but #8 or #1 at TB would give this offensive a better

chance for the big play. I agree, we may need to move some players over to offense to help. These players

will just have too play both-ways. Guys, I know this is a hard lost too take( losing too Mo-West)but we only

have 1 lost in the five river conf. Go back to work this week, and you never know what can happen.

Go Canes! see you guys next week in Newport.

Looking at strictly numbers in the Johnson City press for the two 4A regions and the one 5A region, 23 teams all together. East is 5th in overall D and next to last on O. Whats your takes on West.

Morristown West defense has improve, but East's offense is so bad, who really knows. I do think Mo-west

will lose to Greenville, Playing them their will be tuff.Right now East will have trouble beating any team.

Until East improve on offense, we are going too lose alot of games.

Morristown West offense is good, but not great. We will know more about Mo-west this week.

Thanks Eastfan, as always one of the most pragmatic and honest posters on any board.

You guys didn't need an excuse to burn jerseys (or East High diplomas for that matter). If it were me, I'd light a bonfire out in front of the school and toss in every piece of football equipment East has. It's clearly not doing the players any good, if all they're learning is how to get grass stains out without fading the color of their uniforms. They probably bake cookies in the offseason instead of lifting weights.

And I didn't kiss my sister, but I have done some really filthy things with yours. And coincidentally, grass stains were prominently involved in that situation as well.

Grass stains? We have turf. How old are you?...seriously might as well be tossing around yo momma jokes.... "I've done filthy things with your sister"lol wow...grow up

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
