CBHS vs Mitchell

Boy, this one can be very good, if Mitchell shows up and plays smart- based on what I hear. I have not seen Mitchell play this year, but I have talked to a couple of guys that have. I am going with CBHS is this one, but after the last two weeks I just want to see a decent game on Walnut Grove.

CBHS is dangerous now. Watson is seasoned now. However Mitchell's # 5 MLB Andrew Franklin will be on the prowl. Mitchell is hurting right now in the backfield, those problems will be resolved when the twins make it over there next year. However I see CBHS pulling this one out only if they contain #5.

Many young inner-city student-athletes (and parents) are finding schools like CBHS, more and more appealing and accessible, so do not be surprised if the twins (or one them) end up at CBHS. On a different but related note, it appears that CBHS is developing a pipeline to American Way Middle now.

As far as the game is concerned, as long as CBHS plays physical, run it between the tackles (the middle), and do not commit turnovers, while mixing in some roll-out passing and running plays for the QB, they should win by 10 to 21 points. But, still, the game should be good. I plan on being there!

Yeah how true, but trust me the twins will end up at Mitchell, Whitehaven or Southwind in that order.

i hope mitchell isnt hurting as badly at the guard/center positions as they are in the backfield. if so, it will be a long night for mitchell AND im hoping the officiating isnt as sad as it was in the carver game...great way to get kids hurt by not calling obvious dirty play.

twins? what?

and lastly, what about this quarterback at mitchell everyone was so high on? did i read correctly that he is no longer playing because of issues related with school?

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
