Mann will have to be faster and even more of a scat back than Matt Weathers or the Milan RB or more elusive than Kendall Harper to say that he will be the fastest player we have seen all year. Camden has plenty of speed of its own...Probably one of the fastest secondaries in west TN actually now that we have Travis healthy. Should be a good game regardless...just wish Berry could make an appearance in this game. I guess we'll see what Gaskin has in store for us...he had some good passes last week...wouldn't mind seeing a little more of that this week too. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Go LIONS!

I know you have not seen Mann run on a regular basis, but yes he is better than all of those players mentioned. Just promise me this, when he does go for about 250 yards against Camden, please dont come back and tell me how bad Camden played or it would of been different if whoever would have played. Just come on here and say that Mann is the best back you have ever seen and leave it at that. I promise you if you hold him under 150 yards I will say the same thing about Camden's defense. The fact is each week Northside faces a different opponent and each week they all say the same thing, We Have To Stop The Mann Kid. It hasnt happened. The least amount of yards he has gained is 175 yards and he did not play in the fourth quarter of that game due to injury. He is one of the best backs I have ever seen and I have seen plenty of great backs. Ill tell you this too most teams make the mistake of trying to load the box up against him and put 8 or 9 in there. Thats a mistake because most of the time he just needs to make one guy miss and then hes gone. If I were coaching against him I would definately play with two deep safeties to try and coral him when he does break it. But what do I know I am just a fan.

Weathers gained 200+ on us the other night...but we won. They'll be no crying from us... See the thing is we know that a good back is going to get yardage. Camden is just very good at making sure that that yardage is gained in the middle of the field and then when you get down to the red zone that's where the Camden D will beat you every time. Also don't forget we have several backs with play station moves and one that will just flat run over you too...the question is can the Indian D stop them? If we trade score for score could be a fun night for all... /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Well all I can say is if this Mann kid is that good then Moose May have a challenge. LOL But hey that's why we have 10 other players on the field. But I don't think this Mann kid is quite as elusive as Weathers, that's just hard to believe. As far as him being the best back I've ever seen I doubt it. I've played against Patrick Willis that man is was and is something to see. The Lions may give up 250 yards to this guy, but Moose will be able to answer whatever Mann does. The Lions have who I beleive is the fastest kid in West Tennessee in the form of Andy Travis. He runs a 4.4 or 4.3 forty, and if he gets to the secondary NO ONE will catch.

But I look forward to a lot of hard hittin action in this one. I beleive both teams will be ready on D because they both have weapons, and which ever team isn't ready on D well it could be a long night. Lions4Ever I heard Berry will be back for this one, but will see limited playin time, as he should remember we still have 2 regoin games left, and then play-offs. No unnecessary injuries are needed. Good Luck to both teams.

Crapping their pants. hardly. I think our D is gonna handle themselves just fine. With Big Mike Hassell and Kyle Combs playin hard on the front four, Chase "Moose" Hortorn, Nicky Ibarra, and Ross Dudley for LInebackers, and Danny "Good Hands" Plant, Andy Travis, Pretty Smitty, and Chris "Miguel" Gilliam in the secondary that's a tough Defense to beat. Our Offense is gonna be back to normal with Lil Le(Leon Williams), MOOSE, Crawley, and Micheal Gaskins makin up the backs. Then we Got Danny Plant and Pretty Smitty holdin down the specialty positions. With Andy Travis runnin up & down the feild all night. With that bein said I like Camden by 7. GO BIG BLACK!!!!!

Good luck Friday night from A'ville! I'll take the Lions in this one!

Yup, 20 game series between the two. As recent as 1998, first one CHS has recorded is in '53.

...so maybe we need to change the thread title?

Should be a good game. Personal pregame festivities may include OUTBACK!

GO LIONS!

Northside should have beaten Ripley, Hardin County, and Munford. Killed themselves in all three games with turnovers and penalties. This is all part of learning how to win. They are improved. Their offense hasnt really been stopped all year. They have stopped themselves plenty of times and their defense gives up the big play. Thats it. Just need to kepp getting better. They have the best tailback in the area and a line that is good enough to spring him. Their quarterback is good enough to win and has made a lot of great throws but way to many dropped passes. They are getting better and Camden will see how much better they are. I guarantee Camden coaching staff is crapping their pants trying to figure out a way to slow down Mann.

Camdens' coach is a pretty classy guy! If you should have won those games you would have!

You give me a headache with these excuses!

I am sure Camdens coaches are concerned with Northsides offense...they are too good to ever overlook an opponent...but I think Camden takes this one as they are playing so well

I agree! Well said! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
