CAK @ Oliver Springs

Another important region match up this week. CAK (5 - 2) looks to get back on track after 2 straight losses. With only 3 playoff spots being certain, every game is crucial the rest of this season for the Warriors. A strong second half, 21 point come back attempt against Alcoa last week excited Warrior fans. Oliver Springs had a nice win earlier this season over an always strong Coalfield team. Oliver Springs (1 - 6) is sure to be fired up and playing for respect in front of their home crowd.

OS is very banged up right now and this isn't the most depth-blessed team in Oliver Springs history. After the Loudon game, the last team you'd want to face is CAK. I give the Bobcats credit on the sheer fact that those kids aren't giving up and they may go through a rough couple of seasons, but I think the Bobcats will be a player in the region again in a few years. But I have to be brutally honest and say that CAK will probably win this game.

Gotta hand it to Oliver Springs. They continued to play hard and hit hard all night. Great effort from those kids. My understanding is that they just went to the wishbone about 2 weeks ago. It will take time for them to get comfortable with a new offense

CAK came out focused and intense, with 21 first quarter points. CAK picked right up on the second half comeback against Alcoa. T. Moran had a great night starting on offense. I was glad to see him get in the mix. One game at a time. Now on to Sweetwater @ CAK....

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
