Just got a call from my daughter that they called the game, too much water.

Wish they could have figured that out before all these inexperienced drivers drove all the way over there.

Yeesh...

I agree, but all the coaches wanted to play if all possible.

No coaches knew the shape of the field until they arrived there and saw it for themselves. Naturally, everyone wanted to get the match in if at all possible - no one wants to play on back to back evenings. But playing on Soddy's field at 5pm would not have been soccer. There was standing water all over the field, including one penalty area that had almost six inches of standing water. Other areas of the field faired no better. No field is going to handle the amount of rain we have had over the last 24 hours after 6 months of no rain.

Cleveland and Ooltewah will be at Lee tomorrow at 7pm.

Soddy and McMinn will be at Soddy tomorrow at 7pm.

Sounds like the teams are making the best of a situation that is not ideal. I am sure they would appreciate all fans for understanding and patience. Everyone is eager for region soccer.

Here we go again. We will be playing at Soddy at 5:00 pm today. Lee U has cancelled us again. The girls will need to be at Soddy at 3:45.

Thanks,

Coach Adolph

Could you throw out some of that sand a little earlier MVM?

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
