Volunteer Falcons, hold your heads up high and be proud of the accomplishments you guys have made this year! This schools football program is headed in the right direction under coach Rider and his staff and there are many more accomplishments in the future. Be proud and know that you guys are part of something special thats happening at Volunteer and also that you guys will always be remembered as the team that accomplished a piece of this football programs history and one that they are looking to build on. Congratulations on a spectacular season and we thank you guys for all the hard work and dedication you put into this year! We will miss each and everyone of you guys after this year and want to wish all the graduating seniors the best of luck in pursuing the rest of your lives before you.

Good year, but how on this earth did you guys get beat by a 1-9 CCHS team? If you want to get in the right direction, you got to learn not to overlook anyone on your schedule.

 

I don't have a clue! I believe they were filming a episode of the TWIGHLIGHT ZONE there or something. Seriously though I dont believe I have ever been to a ballgame where our team (or any team for that matter) got into the redzone that many times in the first half and was able to shoot ourselves in the foot everytime! It was just one of those games where you sit back and go what the HECK just happened? On another note though these boys could have let that get them down to a point where they couldn't recover but I think it woke them up. This team has shown resiliency all year and I believe that is one of the traits that has been broken from teams past here. This ball club is headed in the right direction and a new attitude has been established for all the teams ahead to follow and continue to take it further.

I don't think anyone who follows the 5 Rivers conference will ever understand that one.

Congratulations Volunteer on a strong season from a South fan. I knew you guys had some hosses from our scrimmage with you in August. Maybe a little of that ole Panther pride is coming back. Still feel like you guys belong with us in our conference. Ahh the old ULC... S.West, Ketron, Rogersville, Lynn View etc.... Sorry, for the reminising. Hey any Dykes or Christians coming up for the backfield, Church Hill always had one or both carring the rock. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
