Wartburg has a great team, fast as lightning and #3 is one of the best players I've seen in a long time. They were better than Grace. I bet they go back to state. I thought the refs missed a lot of walks too but were OK overall. I didn't like when the Wartburg player shoved a Bobcat player without anything called. At that point it could have gotten out of hand. A York fan was there and was livid about the officiating saying they called 50 fouls on Wartburg and nothing on Pickett. I think when an East TN team comes into Middle TN they get a lot of calls because in East TN they don't call many fouls and let everything go. To me, a foul is a foul and you call it. PC fans could praise every team and not mention refs for 50 years and "senator" and some others would come on with that tired old complaint...all it is is jealousy over Pickett County having such a great program for the last 20 years. Other players are scoring for the Bobcats. I think Logan had 16 and Gibson 15 in this game. If Jacob didn't step up when he did, Pickett would have lost.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think Wartburg had 3 maybe 4 kids to foul out and a starter that did not play This being Wartburgs first game and PC has had a couple of games under there belt I think Wartburg showed some people that they are going to be a team to watch youth will show up in some games but I think by years end this could be a good TEAM As for the Refs I personely thought that they was ok if you want to see bad Refs come to a game around are district we are in the Knoxville association and they send all the bad ones to the small schools in surrounding areas and yes different areas of the state calls different ways its up to the players to adjust to the refs

I thought it was a good game. I think #3 was the best player I've seen this year, and yes that means better than Chase Dunn and Jacob Wright. This kid matched Jacob everytime down the floor. This is a good team, and I'll be suprised if we don't see them in the state tourny. As for the officiatting, I thought it was above avg. Only thing I have to complain about is a few too many missed walk calls, but that is probably the most missed call by every officiating crew in the state. As for the youngster, I think he goes by Bubba, he looks like he'll be a good ref for years to come. My only complants really with refs are ones that I see alot that I personally feel are out to get pickett co and bibb like (Case, Carr, Goose, and Heady). And I think most of it is because of Bibb. When Brent was the boys coach, we got more calls, and I thought it was better reffing, the teams got to play more instead of these draw out free throw contests. I really only notice bad officiatting in games that are reffed by the previously mentioned officials. But as for this weekends crews, both did solid jobs.

Wow, better than Dunn and Wright? That's high praise... Anyone got a name on this kid? How many points did he have?

7a you are right wartburg's number 3 is one of the better shooters I have seen in a while, he matched wright shot for shot and then more. both teams are still a little rough but nothing that wont smooth out. I agree some think that some officials are out for Bibb but i dont think so as i have said before Bibb is no angel. As for the youngster, Bubba is his name, he is up and coming as someone said and he will be a really good official and is pretty good already for his age. The refs did miss some walks but as it was stated that is probably the most missed call in basketball. Both crews saturday did as good as job as i have seen this year. good games all tournament and good officiating as well.

Jacob taking over the game is not why they won ,I think Logan and Gibson stepped up pretty good.Sometimes if Jacob would look for some of his teammates the game would not be so close.JOcob is a good player but he needs to get his teammates to score instead of trying to do it all by hisself.Sometimes Jacob takes some crazy shots instead of passing the ball to a open teammate, but like I said he is good but could be better by passing sometimes.

Where you even at the game. He carried his team, he is the reason they won. I'll agree with you on one thing, he takes some shots that make me shake my head. But he knows he has to score an X amount of pts per night for them to have a shot a winning. Jacob looks for his teammates, alot. I've even accused him of looking for them a little too much sometimes in the past. He looks for them, but most of the time they either don't shoot a wide open shot or miss the shot. If you aren't at the games you only see how many assists he has in the box score, which might not be many if the guys he's passing to don't make their shots. There is no question without Logan and Gibson's contributions, they lose the other night. But they scored about what they are asked to do on a night in and night out basis.....15 to 20 pts each. Logan has been playing very well though, and without him friday night I don't think they would have beat Cumberland Co. But with Jacob, he not only has to do his part of the scoring, some nights he has to go above and beyond that for PC to have a chance to win, along with getting his teammates the ball.

Wright has to show up every night he is the glue that holds this team together not even close.

    • I have no issues with the Karns Middle School program.   Good coaches and he's with the kids he goes to school with.  He's a rising 6th grader who had to play with 6th grade kids last year because Karns didn't have enough kids for a 5th grade age team.  He's in a good place at this point.   My daughter is a single mom with 4 kids under 11 years old.  We help her out with logistics, so staying in our own area right now is important.  Once he gets to high school age, who knows what happens?  That bridge will be crossed when we get there.
    • I know he was a backup but I thought he filled in well when the starter went down. Never a bad thing to have a change of pace back
    • That would be a good get for them. Lowe always finds a way. Pretty sure they have their Rb from last year returning but not that line of beef
    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
