Actually, there's four.

But I doubt William Blount and Heritage has the athletes to match up with Alcoa either.

I know there's four...I was just getting a knock on Heritage in /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

William Blount has the players and athletes...they just never got any recognition until recently because the football team wasn't winning state titles (in other words...because they didn't play for Maryville or Alcoa).

I don't care which school, I want to know players to fill positions and why they should get that honor.

Hehe, I see. I didn't know you were joking... I mean, Heritage really could have been forgotten of late.

sammy, that's really a toughie...

For example, how can you really choose between Brent Burnette and Randall Cobb for quarterback anyway? These two are obviously the best two quarterbacks from Blount County in the last 4 years but they're so different. It really depends on what you want...

I guess I'd have to say, though, Alcoa probably should sweep the running back category - Chris Shiverdecker and Dustin Lindsey, after all...

Tyler Maples for one of the WR spots, at least, Kyrus Lanxter at the other. It's a tough choice between Brandon Warren and Aaron Douglas for the TE spot though...

Sorry to say I really didn't pay attention to the WB teams of late, so I guess I might as well just leave it at that.

    • Yeah I am on board and plan on coming down from the Ridge for some home games, great Friday night atmosphere there.  I'm really hoping SC can get them back going and have some success for those fans and community.
    • Yep I was field level on the scoreboard end throwing ball with Benny when we had that brief lead. Everybody got very excited but it was short lived as Murvil regrouped and went into machine mode. But yeah,  that hit sounded like the crack of a black powder rifle being fire.  I believe Dozier took one like that as a Soph up at Greeneville after on olay block.
    • Ole Benny boy lol. I forgot about Harder. He was tough as crap. He graduated in ‘09. I went to the OR/Maryville game that year (great game, btw) and he collided with Jacob West (I think was his name) and you could hear it clearly at the top of the visitor bleachers. Man, it was a stick. He could lay some wood son. All those guys were tough, Elliott included.
    • They do have good community support for sure and did when I coached under Z for 4 years. (I was on that staff that turned them around a little from winning 1 game a year to actually being competitive).  Great Kids and Great Community over there.  They have done some good things with the facilities from when i coached too.
    • I personally will not mind that one bit.  It seems like a really strange fit to me from the git go.
