HCHS #65 Update

I do not keep up with basketball, but is he on the high school basketball team? It seems to me that he is a bit injury prone. He has missed the entire offseason. As a former coach, I know that he would have a difficult time playing the next season unless he was a returning starter, considering how much he has missed. I am sorry that he was injured. The coaches must plan to go with the guys who are healthy and who have prepared during the offseason. It appears as if he has simply gone from one injury to the next. I don't know your coaches but for a guy who coached for over three decades, I would say don't get your hopes up about his playing time. It will most likely take him a full year to get back to where he should have been without the injuries. If he is on the basketball team, how much did he get to play? If he is not on the basketball team, then what is he doing getting hurt playing basketball? I hope that he has a quick recovery and sustains no more injuries.

you might have coached for 30 years but you don't know the heart or determination that this kid has. He knows now he should have not played basketball but he is so athletic that its hard to stop him. Ask anybody on here that has seen him play how hard of a worker and hitter he is . Oh don't worry you will hear a lot out of Seth Farris this year!!!

go up for a rebound foot is turned sideways what do you think 210 lbs. is going to do. The Dr. has assured Coach Gaddis He will be back in time for spring practice and the coach told him he knows what kind of work he has ahead of him.

The YANKER does not recall this "athletic and hard working hitter"...where did he play last season??? He sounds to me like another in a long line of HC football players who are "oft-injured"...my prediction is that IF he plays next season...he will watch the conclusion of the JCM game from the sidelines...as JCM defeats HC...it has happened before...just ask the "anti-one"!!!!! I AM THE "RIGHT AGAIN" YANKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When does spring practice begin? Is the 210 pounder ready as expected?

Where are all of the HC faithful? I need to talk some football. It is Friday night, and we should be playing. I think life would be better if football were a year-round sport. If you aren't on here because you don't think we have anything to talk about for the upcoming season, shame on you. If you aren't on here because you aren't a plus member, it is certainly worth the 12 bucks. I have had great conversations with co-supporters as well as foes on the private message board. The Open Discussion is a lot of fun, too. Pay your twelve dollars, and let's keep HC in the forefront. I NEED FOOTBALL!!!!!! We will have some down years along the way (depending on the talent), but Patriot football is back. Two All State names are coming back next year, as well as a lot of other talent. Let's do this one year at a time. These kids need to know that we are behind them all year. While they are lifting weights and looking forward, I want to look forward with them, but I need somebody to talk to about it. RED PRIDE! What? Where?

Not Red Pride, but am anxious myself to talk a little football..make that alot of football!!! How has the off season being going for the Pats? Have you started spring practice yet or already finished? Any plans for any scrimmages? How does the Region look now to the Henry faithful? Red Warrior, are you still fishing or what are you doing to pass the time until kickoff? How does the rest of the 4A Statewide look? Who will the Pats have to contend with should they do as well as expected? How many times do you expect to invoke the "mercy rule" on opponents? By the way, should there be such a rule or just let the score be what it may be. (i.e. Either get better or get killed type philosophy)

I have been fishing, eating, and sitting around watching ESPN. I have gained too much weight. I do not enjoy many sports other than football. I have been doing too many chores around the house and yard. Football season brings an end to all of that. It needs to come quickly. I have read nothing about Spring football in the local paper. Has Munford had practice? The mercy rule is ok I guess, but I think it should not start until the fourth quarter. I will be interested to see what the Patriots do in the offensive and defensive lines. Did the coaching staff at Munford remain intact? Has a coach been hired at JCM? Let's talk football more regularly. Then I can convince my wife it is football season, and I can "retire" from my own "retirement", if you know what I mean.

Spring practice starts tomorrow. I know of one scrimmage, but I can't think of the team's name. I believe they beat Riverdale last year. I heard the coach say he wanted some tough competition for scrimmages even if the games didn't look so "pretty." I wish someone with more info would get on here and help me out.

It sounds to the YANKER as if this is another in a long line of "injury prone" Patriots...he will watch the Patriots fall to an improved bunch of Cougars...I AM THE YANKER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring back the "team mom"...now that you have had one commit ot UT...let the jealousy begin!!! Henryland knows NOT...how to deal with success!!!!! THIS YANKER SPEAKS THE TRUTH!!!!!

    • It's time to play everybody's favorite game of how is this season going to go. I'll undertake the fool's errand of a prediction. Encourage the region 2 fans to do the same. Cloudland: Top until they get beat always seem to perform year in year out with a small changing roster. Cosby, North Greene: These two could finish in either order they didn't have big senior classes. Lots of young guys got experience last season and most of their best athletes are upperclassmen it'll depend on coaching and if the kids can put it all together.  Jellico, Unaka: Like the two above could finish in either spot both of them lost key pieces to graduation. It'll depend on how returners play and if young guys can fill shoes.  Hancock: Small roster size devastated by a big senior class that took a lot of the experience and athleticism with them.
    • Confident that Marion, Moore, and Gordonsville are losses.  7-3 would be a nice turnaround.  5-5, 4-6, 3-7, etc. and it's a disappointment
    • Win the Watertown game, you can start 4-0. Lose it and you might be anywhere from 0-4 to 3-1.
