Who do you all think were some of the more outstanding wrestlers at the duals?

Cleveland has a great team, but their 106 or 113 is one tuff wrestler, very impressed with that one. Impressed with the whole program. I'm not sure if Lake Forest is Bradley feeder and Occoee is Walker Valley feeder but I do know Cleveland Middle is producing some good young talent for Coach Eslinger. Good Job to Loftis as well, we have practiced for two weeks, and had three kids not make weight and another starter out injured. It caused us to bump kids or forfiet weights altogether but I don't think it would have changed the outcome of Cleveland/Loftis match but we would be able to match up better in some weights and now we would know where to bump some kids or not because Cleveland had some kids we were just not gonna beat. Kudos Cleveland!

Stop sucking up! I guess now you are going to move the clan to Cleveland? I guess you might as well. That about the only program you guys havent wrestled with yet. Besides they only win becasue they recruit wrestlers and have a big booster. Dont you read the message boards? It doesnt have anything to do with coach Phillips or how much he gets out of his wrestlers. All that yelling and screaming is just false bravado he learned on the mean streets of Miami.

The previous post was meant as a joke between two people. For those have not had the pleasure of watching any of Clevelands teams this year they are a true joy to watch. They wrestle with the heart and soul that makes our sport such a special thing. Congradulations to Cleveland middle and coach Phillips on yet another fine showing.

I did look at two houses for sell in cleveland friday, and thats before seeing the young men from cleveland wrestle. I still have time to move them once or twice more.

Thats true but while there is enough quality wrestling in the Cleveland area to fill your needs I dont think there is very many all you can eat buffets. That would be rough to have to drive to Chattanooga three times a day to meet your daily calorie requirements.

McCallie ran a great tournament, and my hat is off to coach Phillips and his team! Several teams have a hand full of studs, but at the end of the day I think Clevelands conditioning and will to win paid off!

Now I'm not an expert, but the word around the camp fire is that 'YOUTHCOACH16' is fond of all you can eat resturants in the Chattanooga area as well. I've heard him say several times that," You must feed the machine"!

Im not sure who you are but with a name like Cup Cake you probably havent missed too many meals either. I purposely am a little overweight just to keep people fooled. When you are chisled out of granite it tends to draw too much attention.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
