I am a Forrest parent and I was chanting overrated at the end of the game, but I was also chanting Lady Rockets at the end of the game. I was very proud of our girls and the game they came out and played. I also thoroughly have enjoyed watching the high quality games between Forrest and MTCS in the last several years. Over the last few weeks we have had the "drama" everyone has spoken of with one of our players transferring to MTCS ( of course she has the right to do this).....what should not have happened however, is the fact that our girls have been treated like dirt by this very player and others at MTCS,by turning their backs when our kids are introduced, by holding up a Forrest t-shirt marked over rated and having their pictures taken with the shirt at the game and then forwarding this to all the players at Forrest, with our transfer student right there in the mix. I feel MTCS parents should have reined in their kids at this point, about the way they were acting against Forrest. If none of this would have happened, the game most definately would not have had the added chant of "overrated" at the end of the game. In some respects, I agree this is kid stuff and we as parents have the responsibility to uphold good sportsmanship as an example to our children, but I am not sure that a few of us chanting overrated, because we were called overrated, constitutes a huge breach of this responsibility. I believe Forrest players and fans have a reputation for being classy and supporting our girls. I have a rather "loud voice" and pride myself on not being negative and cheering on my team with all my heart.....So I will end this by saying Best Wishes to MTCS as they continue, they are a great team, I hope to meet them again. As always GO LADY ROCKETS!!!!!!!!! Great game girls and also congrats to all the ladies in the District on the All season and All Tournament Teams...Way to go!

One other point I need to make and then I will be quiet ( believe it or not )... I in no way meant that I feel MTCS is "overrated" by my chant, obviously they are are great team....I was reacting to the fact that Forrest is not "overrated" as they said, and as a somewhat rabid fan of these girls I was cheering for them.... not against MTCS , I meant no disrespect to MTCS.

I have known this transfer student and her family for many years. I knew when she left Shelbyville there would be more trouble to follow her. It has followed her from Unionville to Shelbyville to Chapel hill and now to MTCS. All this has stemmed from her actions which is not really her fault but her parents because she is just a child.I know many people from all these schools and it is ashame one person can cause people to get on this board and talk about another school.Actually this is what she wants. We all have to learn hard lessons in this life but shame on her parents for guiding her down this road. To the parents, you have three more children, basketball is not the most important thing in this life. How many points you score will not earn you eternal life.To all the other schools forgive as you have been forgiven. I will be praying for this child and her family!!!!!

Eagles, you beat me to the punch. This child has caused problems everywhere she goes and it is always someone else's fault. It does start at home, when the parents lie, the child lies. Only a matter of time before they get caught. I just wish that so many other girls didn't have to get hurt in the process. To the MTCS parents, players, and coaches: Don't always believe what you are told, there are 2 or more sides to every story and when one side always is running, something is wrong there. You can ask anyone from Shelbyville, Unionville, and now Chapel Hill and I believe you would get the same story. Best of luck to all. Hope this works out for everyone (including her) in this matter. Just a sad story all the way around.

I have listened to this Drama for most of the season.

I have watched these Lady Rockets work hard to overcome this Drama for most of the season.

When the Drama left, dissension, and other things left with it (literally).

Apparently, Drama has followed your Forrest transfer to MTCS. Thus, the Drama continues.

Don't let it ruin your season!

I'd like to think if I'd been there I would have not gotten caught up in all that, but like aunt kim I am an avid Forrest supporter and probably would have been loud and proud for out ladies. I'm sorry for both teams to have to suffer through such an experience. To the person talking about the Lady Rockets cussing, etc., as a former player most of the crowd has no idea what all goes on with the players on the floor. Don't think your team is above non-classy behavior. They all do it at some point in time.

Again, best wishes to all dist. 9 teams and much success in the future. Go Lady Rockets!

And the really sad part about it is this child is not that good. the parents need to just keep her in one place and let her play out her career and enjoy it where she is

As far as the facts, let's talk again next year....where will she be then?

YOU need to analyze the situation CougarFan...this is a pitiful attempt to justify a loss.

Basketball is a contact sport and it usually goes both ways.

I think the Lady Rockets are a very classy team and handled themselves with much

confidence and poise last night. Go Lady Rockets!

Cougarfan, lucky for you basketball season almost over BUT don't say in a month or so when you see the light that you weren't forwarned. Most everyone that has anything to do with the teams that she has played on from jr pro, jr high, aau, and 3 different high schools KNOWS what they are talking about with this situation. That record speaks for itself. And I know what I am talking about, been there, saw that, and glad that is over for us. Just sad and funny now.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
