i really think he has been overlooked in some of the awards that they had given out during district play

he is the go getter of the team i have never seen anyone all over the floor i think justin blake is a darn good player but he dont make the team and the members that are coming off the bench are contributing more than he is

I have to admit D-lo has been overlooked and is an underrated player... he is a solid player with an INCREDIBLE amount of speed and defense because of his intense defense he gets in foul trouble most are refs being touchy with their whistles!! i give credit and he desires every bit of it and he also desired to be on the all district team and all tournament team but there are only so many spots and you can't load it up with everyone from the same team! but i agree D-lo should get some credit!!!

He IS overlooked in alot of ways...VERY good defensive player, can score, fearless player...but to say Blake doesn't contribute as much..averaging over 20pts. a game, plus rebounds, steals, and assists...well that is kinda contributing something. DC is a TEAM..one person doesn't make it..THEY ALL DO.

Parr would be a star on many other teams , but one of many talented players on this DC sqaud.

He usually sets the tone early in games when teams are focused on CJ and J.Blake.

One of the quickest defenders you'll come across as well.. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Many people forget Deangelo played on the DC team at the end of the season 2 yrs. ago; he was the first transfer. There are not many players that play every play the way this kid plays. I know Coach Froedden was excited about him playing and really helped him with his shooting. If he was bigger he would play at a high level.

It takes the talents of all these kids to make DC what it is, coach McCord has praised Deangelo Parr several times in the paper. Justin Blake gives credit to all the team for his success he having D.Parr comes from a fine family I've watch D. Parr play since he was 5 years old he was on my grand son team He's a jewel coach Mc Cord also said he lucky to have 2 PG's like C.J and Deangelo.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
