Jackson SS coach is actually the son of Ridgeway's coach...the old man would never bash his sons team. Bet you didn't know that. Ridgeway is at least 50 points better than Jackson SS...seriously.. I have seen Ridgeway....they are ranked number 23 in the country as of ..lets see...today March 7 2008

Only one of these two will play for the state championship. If someone is going to upset either of these two teams then they will need to do it the first round of the tourney. Maybe catch one of them cold shooting due to the change of floors and it being alot harder to shoot in the "glass house". I say UC gets beat first round if they draw a team like Moore County or Manassas. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

Yea Coach Henning is from Jackson. He actually grew up in the Denmark area and his son played for Denmark Middle and then South Side, U of M, and Lambuth. The assistant for Ridgeway also use to coach JCM ....just a little insight

All of us that have been praying that the Manassas Tiger-Union City Tornadoes match-up happens in the state finals of 1A ball have been going at it pretty hard...Sometimes even to the point of personal attacks...This is all suppose to be in fun and people take this a little too seriously sometimes...It is just a basketball game in the big scheme of things....I have been hearing from different people on the "T" about this great schedule that the Tigers have played this season so I wanted to see for myself...I have looked at the schedules posted on coachT and having grown up in West Tn and knowing about the strength of Memphis basketball,if you look on the surface at the teams Manassas has played you would say,Wow they have played a great schedule....That's on the surface though...Here is a closer look at their schedule...We all know that they have played Liberty,Mitchell,Ridgeway,Nashville Christian Advancement(NCA),Alton,Ill and Humboldt...Those are legit teams and there are no arguments there...Manassas is 3-4 in those games against really good opponents....Here is a look at some of the other opponents..Tough schedule???...You decide for yourself...Bolton...15-9 w/1 score Not reported...Manassas lost this game...Melrose..15-16 w/3 scores NR...They played Melrose twice and won both..Treadwell...12-15 w/1 score NR...Won twiceTrezevant...11-21...Won twiceGW Carver....18-10...Won twiceNorthside....3-22...w/1 score NR...Won twiceWooddale...11-14...w/2 scores NR...Won onceHamilton....11-14...w/5 scores NR...Won onceThey played a couple more Illinois teams at Christmas...Centralia....17-8..WonSalem,Ill....13-13..WonThey have a 89 strength of schedule ranking..Most all of the teams that they have played are from Tennessee only one,Alton,would have raised their SOS if coachT added out of state games into the equation...Centralia and Salem wouldn't have helped..Probably would have cancelled each other out...Alot of these teams are from Memphis...Their overall strength rank is 8...Keep in mind that they play in a district that only has 5 teams...Not very good teams either,so they can only play 8 district games...In comparison...Union City plays in a ten team district,so they have to play 18 district games against 1A opponents..No way around that...Their SOS still is at 41,even with all those 1A teams..After you get past #5 in our district we are not blessed with great teams either..Go look at South Fulton and Gleason's records..We have to play then four times..Those two teams alone drag our SOS way down...

Most of these teams didn't have great records..most of these teams would have dominated with ease most districts in the state ( not all though). Playing in the city of Memphis is like a meat grinder. I don't and have never put much stock in strength of schedule because it's not an accurate assesment.. Strength of schedule puts to much emphasis on wins and loses and is not an accurate measure of talent and teams. So no..in my opinion Manassas schedule is by now means smoke and mirrors. Thats hard to understand..Sorry..I thought it would format.Just look at each team on Manassas schedule and pull up that teams schedul and analyze that teams schedule.... and notice how close the teams with not so great records played the really good tams out of Memphis.It will suprise you. Alot of these teams played White Station, Raleigh Egypt, Ridgeway and and a handfull of the really good teams with 10 points or less . Some were nail biters.Check it out.

I don't think UC would match up well against Manassas. I would pick Manassas over them should they meet.
