bballbaby
/flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> As the 2008 Basketball Season comes to a close, its funny how everything has evolved. Last year the MCHS Tigerettes were the State Runner Ups in AA. This year, they didn't get the respect that they deserved. Most people said that it was a "Weak District and a "Weak Region". Newsflash, teams have to play who are in their district and in their region. Fast forward to the State Tournament - Marshall County drew the toughest bracket at the tournament. Before each game, other teams were given the glory because so and so had beat Marshall County. I guess that one game set the tone for other teams to harp on. When you enter the State Tournament, Holiday Tournaments, District, Region, and SubState don't matter - a new day a new ballgame. Marshall County fought its way out of its bracket through great team play, determination, and skill. To make it to the State 2 years running and bring home a ball is amazing and they are to be commended. To be State Champions is a dream that some players and some teams will never have the opportunity to experience. The gym is quiet and the crowd is silenced but on this day in Lewisburg, TN, there are tears of joy and a lot of proud fans and parents. To the Seniors: McKenna, Monkey and Danicka, you are truly special young ladies and it has been a priviledge to have been a part of the Tigerette family. You are all exceptional young ladies who exemplify what makes a winning team. I wish you all the best in what ever you wish to achieve. May God Bless each of you. Lauren, Jakerra, NeNe, Andraya, Dricka, Lauren R., its hard to believe that you will be Seniors next year, and of course to the FAB five - Artavia, Stephanie, LaRhonda, DaRhonda, and Mieke - your time is coming -hang in there. To Coach Steely and Coach West - you make a dynamite team and thanks for believing in each of the girls and in the team. Gibson County, McMinn Central and Milan - you are a classy group of young ladies and I wish you well in the future. To the 2008 AA State Champs -- you are who you are, keep your heads high, because you have proven this year that the race is not always given to the swift - but to the one who endures to end. Through all the negativity and the non-believers, you showed that HONEY HUSH, IT IS WHAT IT IS! Much Love to each of you and thanks for letting your faithful fans along for the fabulous ride - it was the ride of a lifetime. I am sure that some people are already talking about next year, but for the Marshall County Tigerettes, this is a time to reflect on a year that proved to be an out of this world experience and one that we will never forget! Congratulations Ladies!!!!!!!!!!! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

H-A-T-E-R, DON'T HATE THE PLAYER, HATE THE GAME, Refs don't play defense, they don't shoot free throws, jump shops or layups. Blame the ref's if it makes you feel better but know that bad calls were called on BOTH sides and that Marshall County showed up and showed out!!!! Game over! Refs dictate how defense is played 2. They are supposed to send teams to the line(didnt quite get that done for milan) 3. Hack-Hack-Hack No-call No-call No-call

mcfan10
Marshall Co. has a great coaching duo. One from the Steely family, which probably has had the greatest impact on Marshall Co. basketball. And Boyd West was a Shelbyville back in the 90's.
