Ya I heard about this at my indoor tourney last night. I played with the CCS assistant coach. I heard 1 of East Ridges goals came off a corner, but forgot a bout the other. I think it was 2-2 atleast. He said East Ridge pretty much just played defense. He wasn't too happy about it haha.

It must have worked for them. Regardless with all of CCS's experience you would never see this coming. I never saw or really thought of looking for ER's score with Central this past week until now. Anyone know that score?

This has almost happened to us several times. A team drops 9 players back, and 1 up top. They play the long ball counter, hope for a free kick or corner, and are able to capitolize on opportunities. We outshot one team 42-1 and ended up winning in the last 10 seconds 2-1 on a somewhat lucky goal.

Don't know if this is what happened, but sounds like something similar. Don't count CCS out of anything, though.

Reaction, I didn't know they needed water boys/managers in indoor. That is cool that they let you do that. I'll bet you meet a lot of good soccer players.

congrats to east ridge. packing it in and trying to win a low scoring game is a good way to stay in game where you are overmatched talent and skills wise. i hear a lot of parents/players/coaches complaining about this style, similar to the slow down basketball game. the object is to win the game, and you do what you need to do to give your team a shot at doing just that. who scored the goals for easch team?

CCS probably outshot them 25 to 5 but just couldn't find the back of the net. East Ridge scored on a corner header and a rebound off the keeper. The field being so small hurt because CCS couldn't use their speed and everything they were kicking went way long. Give credit to East Ridge because their game plan worked and they do have some

pretty good players, they have about six hispanic players that start and they did pretty well. CCS will bounce back

and be there all year and they have a tough test tomorrow when they play Whitewater out of Georgia which was state runner-up last year in 4A.

That really smarts to outshoot a team by 20 and tie... but it happens. This may be the biggest tie or win for East Ridge ever. I know what you mean about a small field but unfortunately that is all alot of schools have money for. Football fields are also very hard for a visiting team for sure. Congratulations to East Ridge. CCSMAN, I am sure you guys will bounce back and be ready to go.

ER also has alot of speed. The field didn't keep them from playing well. ER is underestimated. They have a really good team this year and yes they have alot of talent also. ER did play CCS well and I think they will play alot more

just as well. Watch out for ER they may suprise alot of folks out there. .

I appreciate it and yes we will bounce back and eventually all these shots will start hitting the mark. I wish the best of luck to East Ridge and their program and hopefully we will meet again in the district.

They didn't hit the back of the net because ER defenders were on their game. CCS didn't make one of their penalty shots. And what did it mean when the CCS players laid on the ground during their penalty kicks? I have never seen that before.

I think you know better than that. We didn't have any penalty shots, those are inside the box and they're called PK's, but we did get some free kicks for fouls that were outside the box and we didn't connect. I have no idea what game you were watching but I never seen anyone falling to the ground on the free kicks!!! I wouldn't be getting too cocky, you guys played a good game but this is new to you all so I wouldn't be jumping the gun because there is a lot of season left to play and come May only the strong survive............

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
