i disagee. Westview's bat weren't completely asleep. look at the game againest chester county. and Westview held their own game againest ripley and againest station camp. their freshman pitcher wasn't on her A game at all. better watch out for gibson and obion? Westview killed them both. so maybe everyone should watch out for the 'View. thats the team everyone wants to beat. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

 

 

I do not know about the Gibson Co. vs Westview game, but if you check the scores I believe Obion Central gave Westview their only district loss in a 2-0 shutout and their other game was a 3-0 win. Not exactly a killing.

Katie Davis signed with Union yesterday. Congrats to her...she has 8 or 9 homers on the season so far!

 

Looks like Union is starting to take kids from this area. The Pitcher from Ripley(Edwards), the 3rd baseman from Westview (Owens) and the Catcher frem Gibson (Davis). It is good to see local colleges looking at these kids.

I would agree the 'View did not kill Obion!!! They beat Gibson pretty good but that could change if they meet again.

Remember this is a good district from top to bottom. Anything could happen. Thats why I say watch out for Obion they are playing at home during the tourny!!!!!!! It will come down to who gets hot and when!!!!

Ok I agree that the bats where not totally asleep they looked great against Chester....But I can not say the same about the rest of the teams they faced in the tourny. The statemanet about Westview killing Obion you just flat got the wrong. I figure your are a westview fan so I want tarry with this too long and upset you.

I have said before Westview is in the drivers seat they have a heck of a team. But this district is strong top to bottom. . /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

One of the best games of the Martin Border War Tournament was late Saturday night. Obion Co. beat Huntingdon 1-0. Obion had 2 hits and Huntingdon had 2 hits. Huntingdon's pitcher, Thomas, had 14 strike outs and Eaves from Obion Central had 11. I do not remember any errors in the game and Obion got 2 back to back hits with a steal in the middle. This was a great game to watch between two really good pitchers.

May be true but I heard several of these hits were little bleeders right over the infield. OC is on the upswing. They will be the team to beat with the tournament at their place. My vote is for them or Gibson still until the other teams start playing with consistency.

What is your interpretation of an "A" game, and take into consideration that no pitcher has an A game every time on the mound. The freshman had 11 SO against Station Camp, 6 SO, against Ripley and a no Hitter with 9 SO's against Marshall Co. Westview did not win these games but it was not just the pitcher that lost the game, it takes the whole team to play the game and offense usually helps a whole lot. The Westview freshman combo of catcher and pitcher are young but very determined to win the game and the defense behind them is great. The bats just didn't get it done, plain and simple and it was a learning experience and no doubt will be a very determined team to come out of this tournament.
