Two Tennessee teams winning one of the biggest Alabama tournaments, that says a lot for Tennessee ball

I heard that they had identical records with another team after pool play, and that a

coin toss decided who would play in Gold and who would play in Silver.

 

There were 6 teams in a pool but only played 2 pool games, thus you pretty much had to win both your games to advance. It was not a great format for deciding because 1 average team may have played 2 below average teams and advanced in gold because of blowouts and 2 top teams may have played each other in pool and one would not have advanced. If you played two very strong teams and won both games 2-1 you either would not have advanced because of tie breaker or put in the silver bracket. But given the situation of trying to get the tournament in this was the best they could do and I commend them for making it work.
