westtnman Posted July 21, 2008 Report Share Posted July 21, 2008 I do agree that the ministry at the field is better than nothing and I'm sure God is happy that this happens but my opinion is that God would rather us be at Church than at the field. As mentioned, people could start to think that they could miss every Sunday and simply substitute prayer and a reading to replace it. And Jesus' greatest sermon (Matthew 5) was in which church? 1 Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down his disciples came to him. Just a point.........Work with kids very long, watch them in church and then watch them worship when they are in their own element (youth group setting, camps, and yes small groups on softball fields) and you will see two very different pictures. Don't get me wrong, I am all for attending church but I am afraid that we might be too hung up on where we worship and not WHO we worship.
