This poster is sure Coach Jones will be a great AD. To give DH a great deal of credit, this gentleman has been under a great deal of stress for some time pulling double and triple duty along with possibly carrying on some duties of an acting Principal. With what he has been thru, this poster wondered if it would be all worth it in the long run. He seemed to be putting out fires in a lot of sports. He has a lot of resprct from a lot of different directions. This poster is also sure that Coach Jones would not like to redo the end of the season at the end of next season. All of this seems to be an organizational issue county wide. Going thru all of this is not enjoyable and one has to have enjoyment in their profession. One can blame it on Girls Basketball but there were a lot more than that along with changing a Principal. If DH had announced he was not going to be AD this coming year earlier, this would have been worse. It is to his credit he did not do it.

When did DH announce he was not going to be AD? Do you know Coach Jones?

20, everything is documented on this site as to what parents and the school went thru losing their coach at the end of the year. It was regretable but a number of parents and schools can learn something from it and in hiring a coach after some time without one, how the parents and prospective student/players including prospective 9th graders reacted to a great community meeting to be introduced. IMO, that was as classy a move this poster has heard of recently and who ever came up with the plan certainly knew what they were doing. Can you share with this site how many prospective 9th graders AND parents showed up, how many of the players showed up and was it open to prospective players not currently on the team and how did everyone handle it. This poster knows this puts you on the spot and if you had rather not respond this poster understands BUT in situations like this, which don't happen very often but will happen again, it would be good if you can to share the events. Thanks

This was Coach Reed's idea. This proactive approach is what the program needs. This event was also open to the middle school, community event, and several were in attendance. Did not take a head count but all the tables were full and a few were left standing. Coach Reed said this is the largest class of 9th graders in the school's short history. Due to the late hire, and TSSAA blackout rules, try-outs will be the first day of allowable practice 10/27.

Coach Reed did say she plans on having 3 teams, (freshmen, JV, V). This will be the first time for a freshmen girls team at IHS.

how will indy look this year - did Jes hailslip ( spelling ) stay at IHS thought i read ealrlier post she may transfer - is she a legit div 1 propect?

Haislip did transfer to Riverdale, following Coach Maxwell. Her 15U AAU team based out of Memphis won the nationals this year. She is going into her junior year. If she gets stronger IMO she will be a D-1 prospect.

As a note, since she went to Riverdale she will get stronger as their off season, strength training is noted bieng one of the best, at least when Coach Burt was there.

    • I hear the Stansberry kid is having receiver's come out all the time to help put in some work.    RWR!! I hope 20+ kids are showing up.
    • I think that pretty much sums it up, really. To be perfectly honest, I'm far less sour about Eagleville getting to host themselves in the state tournament every year than I am the fact that we find ourselves in a position that we have to play STATE TOURNAMENT games at a blamed Single A facility.
    • It's time to put away with the award. 18 players selected, and 17 of those players are from Middle and East Tennessee. I guess they don't play baseball in West Tennessee. I understand there will be players that were "snubbed." We can make a legit argument that it occurs in Mr. Football and as well as Mr./Mrs. Basketball. But baseball is not a place where we can sit here and say "these are the 3 best players in this class and that class."  And we got to get rid of these polls bullcrap that's being released. It's all nonsense.
    • Thanks. I'm just trying to understand how this process works.   It seems like a bit of a sweetheart deal to me but the cookie has to crumble somewhere I guess.
    • He won’t got anywhere he has it made in h20 he prob makes almost what a head coach in t c makes plus there’s not as much pressure there everyone is a use to the losing there. I say he will be there for many years just waiting for Webster to leave…
