the first round winners were fairview over springfield,

chester co. over hendersonville, martin over dyersburg.

 

Second round results- springfield over dyersburg, and martin over fairview.

 

tonight's match-ups were springfield vs. hendersonville, and martin vs. chester co.

 

that is all i know of, i play for fairview and there has been some great competition. too bad we weren't playing on a better field.

martin beat chester county 6-4 but since 2 of the 3 upmires are from martin and one is a high school baseball coach at martin u will not get any calls. the umps did not beat us we did make 2 costly errors but they did contribute alot! today chester county beat fairview and springfield beat martin (the last i saw was 12-1, fairview had 5 homeruns and 2 from one guy) chester county plays martin and the winner plays fairview for the championship

don't u mean chester plays martin and the winner plays springfield because since fairview lost we our out. yeah the umpires have been terrible all tournament. the umps missed three crucial calls in our game yesterday and once chester took the lead the umpires zone shrunk. yeah the umps also need to learn the rules because the other night they didn't even know what runner interference was. so this state tournment a joke except for the teams. good luck to you all.

yeah.. i feel sorry for the teams that played here during the state tournament....d-burg is just not a good place to have any kind of tournament..the ppl that put these touraments on here in dburg do not know what they are doin...i apologoze top the teams that played here....sorry

they won the state and are playing in the world series right now. They played today against the team from Alabama and lost 3-2 in 9 innings of play. Tyler newman pitched all 9 and pitched a good game. the umpire behind the plate did not call a pitch on the corners and hurt them bad in the last inning. Im glad the umpires in TN call the corners. we play the arkansas at 1 in monroe, La

      Worst thing SC could do is get rid of Dyer. I agree with everything said above.

      Jada Hart, Jasmine Bailey and Kaitlyn Patterson the first two being PG's are all good guards and can handle ball pressure and are good players. Raven Wells will be a good post. There were games this summer where any one of the one's I mentioned were in double figures. Gibson County will control TO's much better this year and they will press more and get back to playing faster. AA is down across the board. I have been all over watching ball. Alcoa jumped to AAA and Jackson County moved down. to A. No telling who wins it this year. I agree Union City, Westview and Gibson County will be a dogfight and must see basketball. Poster insuated that Gibson County has a mental block against Westview. Well give me Maddie Gray and we line up last year and they wouldn't have won a game. Let's see how Westview does this year. Their starting five last year had three transfers in it. Rogers from Obion, Trevathon from Greenfield and Gray from South Fulton. Looks like they swung and missed with the girl from Florida this year so let's see how they do playing with kids from Westview. Gibson County has a really good 7th grade class this year.I have done learned you play with what you got and work them hard and develop them and see what happens. Just keep battling and see what happens. I like our team this year. Very athletic. Every year is the same with injuries and can be catistrophic to any. I watched GC all summer long. South Side and GC was very evenly matched and was a classic war.We had some quality wins this summer. Beat Huntingdon, Henry County, Bowling Green, Liitle Rock Central as well as a couple other quality Kentucky Teams. Westview's talent pool may not be what it has been without transfers the next few.

      I think Gibson County is a top five team this next season but I do agree they will drop off a lot after this year.  Westview lost a ton and will be down this season and hopes of returning to glass house again is slim.  The run they have had is super impressive!

      My take on GC for this year: Based on what I saw last year and heard this summer, I’m not sure GC could surprise me next year with any outcome. Wilkins is a great coach - they could win the district and region and go to Murfreesboro. They could also come in third in the district and not get out of region. The two returning starters are very talented but Guru is right that they didn’t always play hard last year. The other three starters are good enough in their roles for GC to be successful. There is no depth. Foul trouble could be a problem - Wilkins may avoid it by playing a lot of zone. An injury would be catastrophic. I hope they have a big year and Wilkins rides off into the sunset in Murfreesboro because, without some significant transfers, there are some tough years coming in the next few.

      Daniel Boone coming down to 3A makes this much tougher. They added a couple transfers to the Flores girl. Cocke Co, Northview, Greeneville, and Daniel Boone - only two headed to Murfreesboro.
