Let me guess you are a JPII fan. What you don't say in your post is how Farragut pretty much dominated the game between JPII and JPII were losing 1-0 with 13 minutes to go. What you don't say is who controlled play in that game and it was Farragut , NOT JPII and you were there on the field so you know. You played Farragut Tough and they did not recover against CBHS and you JPII benefited because it was such a physical game between CBHS and Farragut , CBHS was to tired to play a fresh JPII back to back..,. Lucky for you, you will never see Farragut again but unlucky for you CBHS will be fresh next time you play them and you will see a different result. I am sure you will get on here and blast my comments but for all of you areound the state KNight and Nick have slanted JPII views since they play there, I will give you credit for a very good team but let either of these teams play you at their home with JPII the traveler, and you have to play them playing back to back games, you might not be so cocky then, different results for sure.......that being said you can crow because you did win and the real time to grow is when they hand you the champion trophy.....Will you be there then??? Don't answer just prove me wrong

ok personally, I hate jp2 and farragut. Say what you want... Faragut and Christian brothers may have better players/skill but at the end of the day jp2 found a way to win. I hate saying this but they are the #1 team right now and they deserve it. It doesn't matter who controled the game, it matters who played the game and took advantage of their challenges. Congrats pope. Don't get a big head though!

Don't have anything to do with either of these teams on this thread...but it is very impressive what jp2 has done. No disrespect meant here but I don't remember jp2 even being at state last year. I may be wrong...but how in the world did this team improve so much this year....new players. Curious and congratulations on the weekend.

I know they got their best player back who was forced to leave the school for a year.

I know he plays for TNFC 91's also.

JP2 had a great weekend. Came out with some lucky results though. I play for Farragut and we didnt have such a hot weekend......result wise. We played some brilliant soccer.

First off..Congrats on the win John Paul but...we outplayed you in every way possible to outplay a team with out winning. You have a great team but dont get too big of a head.

Next..Christian Brothers IS the top 1 or 2 team in the state over teams in their Division like JP, Baylor, and McCallie. I think CB could beat all of these teams when they play fresh.

The CB game was an excellent soccer game. Even though there were some miss calls that players got mad about and the game was extremely physical!....both teams actually respected eachother. I just wish the game would of gone to overtime to find the winner.

I must say though that CB is the team to beat this year "on a normal gameday" , watch out for them at state.

Congrats on the wins JPII, you found a way to win both though. I would love to see the next game between CB and JPII, CB will play some insanely good soccer that game.

If I remember correctly about last year, that on April 28th, 2007 JPII played back to back Games against Germantown and CBHS. Germantown in the morning and CBHS in the afternoon. That was CBHS only game that day. The night before, JPII played MUS. JPII played 3 games in a 24 hour period. Also, CBHS did not have a game that Friday night. JPII won against MUS and Germantown and loss their third game to CBHS by a 2-0 score. That was a 50/50 game with CBHS having the better scoring opportunities. It is not JPII fault that CBHS scheduled Farragut and JPII on the same day and I do not remember JPII whining when they loss to CBHS last year. One thing is correct, the state championship tournament will determine which team is the best.

Just to be clear, no one that I know of at CBHS is whining. As I said before, and I think I speak for most of the CBHS fans, congrats to JPII on the win. You earned it. Case closed.

Also, the Farragut/CBHS game was a good battle, just like last year when the two played at the Palmetto Cup. Two good teams going at it hard!

Let me guess, you're a Father Ryan fan? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

yes i am a father ryan fan. look yes you won, i am not taking anything away from that. you found ways to win and that is a sign of a good team, but when all you ever do is post things about how great you think you and your team are.........it just gets old. you just make your team seem so invincible and only post things with enough info for it to seem like you all are the sugar, but all those who were there no that it could swing anyway. It's never yeah the other team didn't capitalize or they played bad...it's well jp2 beat the #1 team the #5 team the #21 team....that's great but is it really necessary to post that? No. Just have some class...and don't blatantly and unnecessarily post things like we beat this team that team and that team. Actions speak louder than words, and your teams actions are speaking volumes, so don't be stupid and ruin it. You are the team to beat, congrats! Seriously.

/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Funny post considering all you have done on this topic is come on here and belittle JPIIs wins. So JPII fans can't talk good about their team, but you can talk about how they didn't deserve to win?

    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
