Who played Q.B.? Any young and up coming players step up and show promise? How did Wilson and Styles look? Did taking the winter off from basketball help them in the weight room? Any other scrimmages coming up? How about a red and black game?

QB was Holbert mostly with Mills filling in. Wilson did not play due to a slight injury I believe. One other starter, DT Reliford, is still recovering from knee surgery, but will be good to go in fall. Styles looked good at receiver and LB. Defense was really strong even with 2 starters out. No Red and Black game as spring practice is over. Wilson will be a tough one to tackle in the fall.

Under the guidance of McMillian I look for the defense to continue to be Centrals strong point. If Wilson can stay healthy he will be a dominant player around Knoxville. It seems every year the injury bug hits him. Styles should be a force on both sides of the ball. After that I hear there are a lot of question marks.

What was the final score of the scrimmage?

You must have been at a different scrimmage. Central's first team dominated AE's first team. And your attempt at humor was lame.

Well I guess you got me runnin backwards. I will probally never post again. Good luck on Coach T, mabey someone will creat a new 4a Coach T region for football and Central will win the trophy

CHS 4-AE 4; I don't think either team was very dominating. 1st series Central offense went backwards. A fumble that would have been taken for a touchdown blown dead. Then an interception. They hit a deep pass on play 8/9 against a secondary that had never played before. Besides the Jones kid no one else would probably play in the secondary on Friday nights. (2nd Jones, Graham, Dean, Robinson-possible starters (got these names from a parent and little league coach). AE one series went 7/8 plays without getting a snap. (wet ball in gun). Also I notice Graham ran the ball 10 straight plays. One of their assistance said he was working on getting good at the veer game and was not going to go away from his goal in spring. AE did not have starting QB Antone Dean/Brandon Lopez out the whole spring. Central scored on big plays. Screens, Reverses, and Deep passes. Ae did put together a couple of drives scoring on 2 and running out of plays in the first series on the 22 yardline (play 10). But Central did not have their stud jamie Wilson. Both teams were impressive in the conditions to me. Both teams kid played hard. I noticed it wasn't alot of fighting and stuff that usually happens at AE Central scrimmages. Ae had probably 25 players total. I talked to a number of their starters in the stands. AE did not have a first team the whole spring. And I doubt very serious that is Central's first team that started out yesterday. The transfer from Oak Ridge was very impressive at MLB. Along with QB #10. Did well when he was in.

    • Think he would be better suited to save our baseball program. We struggle to win 5 games a year but noone wants to talk about that. Could even coach from the fence across the creek should he continue in his extra curricular activities.
    • He probably works at the high school.
    • I'm going to say  1) Coalfield 2) Oz 3) Rockwood  4) Greenback
    • Mancoverage sez: This thread has been an absolute delight! Absolutely marvelous! Such eloquent and rosy prose, contained here in, is so seldom found amongst the more jocular subset of our species. The brilliant author behind such poetic use of an obviously deep and broad vernacular, reminds me of the other-worldly talents of Oscar Wilde. I humbly thank you, kind sir, for so generously sharing your elegantly loquacious gifts. The Goat sez: You better watch your back, Lord Byron, I’m sure poetry isn’t the only talent and passion that the author shares with Oscar Wilde.
