Hendersonville vs. LaVergne round 2.

From what I saw last time, LHS is not on the same skill level as HHS. The latino strikers for LHS team seam to be a great individual players but not scoring as a team. This is from someone who thought the commandos were not communicating as a team and playing a very average game.

I can't see either one of these teams getting by the team that comes out of the Knoxville region!

Well obviously anyone has a chance at this level in any game. On paper Hville should win - undefeated at home this year and another home game for them. A win has them hosting sectionals as well I think so a lot to play for. Hville seems to have figured out some ways to score recently so if their D plays as well as they have been, it should be a win for them. Lavergne is very talented up top and can score as they've demonstrated this year. They've had a tough time against the Hville D so they'll need to figure that out to pull it off.

LHS only hope is for another repeat of the last game when the Commando backed off after the lead. The LHS forwards play hard and have skills but I was suprised on their lack of teanm play.

Let me ask the Commandos fans this. Does the team play up to their comp level our did I see therir best against LHS last week?

BTW- Congrats to the Commando Seniors for their great season. See you Friday!

Prescient question. They seem to have developed a bad habit of playing down to the level of competition. Playing a good team, on a quality field, they play much better.

Hendersonville will have no problem with Lavergne in this one. I believe Hendersonville is starting to play their best soccer at the best possible time.

It was a classic , although not in Lavergne's favor

Hendersonville 4

Lavergne 3

in OT

goals for hendersonville

Nathaniel Sprouse

Patrick Kelly

Richie Reichenberger

Patrick Kelly - GW goal OT

By far a sluggish performance by the Commandos.

Whew, what a game. Hendersonville better not play like that from now on or it will be over. Good job to the Commandos.

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
    • That's a fair line. But if it's not over, that's a big problem.
    • RR, you think that changes this year, or at least improves? I know they had a couple of talented young receivers last year that made some plays later in the year. Defensive back was a struggle against any team that was above average at throwing the ball.
    • You would think they got a bunch of interest
    • You would think with football just three months away more would be talking. There's only so much a person can say about someone allowing the field to get painted without asking their boss who would have said ((((((((  ALE NO ))))))))) or all the other BULLS#!T they've done as they lead Maryville High into the new age of WOKE in a conversative town. I'm ready for some football news without hearing something coming out of 825 that Power Munger has done to cap off the week.
