As of now the game is still on for 4:30 at Granny White park. We have to wait for the parks dept. to make the final though.

Good luck to both teams, I will be cheering for Brentwood but I am a realist. Say a sweet one for the Williamson County girls this afternoon as they take on Mount Juliet and cross town rival takes on Beech. Go Williamson County! We may need a little help - come cheer us on!

Congrats to MJ girls on a great season, especially #3 and the rest of the senior class. Great job by Brentwood, I was very impressed with the pitcher, she made some really good hitters hit her pitch, right at people. BRENTWOOD upset Mt Juliet 2 to 1 with great defense. Jennifer Maher tossed a four-hitter. The ball was hit hard but Brentwood was stellar in defensive play.

 

Mt. Juliet (30-12), the Class AAA runner-up in 2006 and ??™07, beat Brentwood in the last two state tournaments and blanked the Lady Bruins 3-0 on April 2.

Hannah Irwin doubled home Mt. Juliet??™s lone run in the fifth inning.

Brentwood??™s Ashley Allison tripled in the first inning on a misjudged liner to center field. She scored on Suzi Jenkins??™ sacrifice fly to center when Bijan Stegall hesitated to get the ball back to the infield.

Maher tripled in the second when right fielder Lindsey Halliburton unsuccessfully tried to spear the line drive and it rolled to the fence. Maher scored moments later on a wild pitch from Shelby Morris.

Morris retired 13 consecutive batters after that and struck out eight, but the run support wasn??™t there. Mt. Juliet stranded five runners and its 3-4-5 hitters combined to go 0-for-8 with a walk.
