The Making of a Program

A interesting look into Oakland's program and the man that has led them for the past 19 years. Mack has seemed to be a target of many attacks over the years, ranging from questioning his coaching ability to questioning his ethics. I think its safe to say that those allegations are unfounded. Its pretty clear that Mack cares deeply about his kids and his program.

Also a great article about the Dodd Brothers. Coach Hawks seems to consistently help produce great players. Great job Oakland!

I am so proud of Oakland baseball. It will be really sad to see Tennyson Dodd go. It has bee so enjoyable to see him progress the last 2 years. You know when the game is on the line, he is going to come through. He has stepped into the GAMEBREAKER mode many a time. I totally admire his game. Tough as nails and cool as a cucumber at the plate. I know he will have a stellar career in college, and I hope to get to see him play again. I also enjoyed the heck out of watching Brett Wilson mature. Looks like I have quite a few favorites on the field at Middle . I have never really liked MTSU in any sport. I just can't get into them.......but I am going to have to get over that way now that Wilson is joining my other favorites, Tyler Burnett and Lefty Roberts! GO RAIDERS!

It was sad to see us go down at state, but I was so proud of this gutsy crew getting there. No one gave them a shot at the beginning of the season, and they proved everyone wrong. Way to go, Patriots. Thanks for letting us fans be a part of your legacy.

Mack sat my older brother out of his last game at Oakland High School in the State Tourny. His reasoning was that my brother signed to a college to early. No offense to Coach Hawks, but doesnt that seem a bit harsh? Maybe there is some reasoning behind it, but i'm glad i went to MTCS. I got 5 yrs. at a starting position, and have the highest respect for the game. My dad and brother both have told me that the decision to play there was wise. I could have played AAA ball for a respected coach (coach hawks) and could have gotten more interest from colleges but still i'm glad i went to a private school. Congrats to Oakland and another great season! You boys make the community very proud.
