Under-rated players

I just wanted to but in here if I may, Don't want to offend no one. I know what you are trying to say. {from experience}I watch a lot of ball especially 7a & aa girls. I have a interest in it due to alot of my friends kids play in this area not just one school.

I had the chance this last ball season meeting several good players and their families that work as hard if not harder than what you call the outstanding players. The reason they have to work at it harder is some are born with natural talent and some have hidden talent. They have to work harder for it to show. Jc for example {i feel they will agree with this} they had your star players but if it wasn't for the bench and them working as a team combining all talents they would have never went as far as they did! It is natural and easier for a coach to favor or seem to favor a naturally talented player than one that needs work.{thats what an assistant coach is for} I agree that there is a -1 talent being overlooked or not giving the attention they need. That is the fan's responsiblity also, due it respectfully, but when they hit the floor to play let them know how you feel about them. Make some noise.

I went up to a girl that JC played against and beat and told her she was a good player and did a good job out there. You would have thought I smacked her in the face, she stood thier for a minute and then laughed and said thanks. Just because you lost the game doesn't mean you didn't play well just circumstance of coaching, plays, team not on the same page. Ball games are won by teams not single players and that is what I told her. The kid's mother came up to me later and thanked me for cheering up her kid. Try it sometime won't kill ya and why not? That's how I think ya let the underated kids know how they did. JMHO....My explanation to these kid's is that it is like a motor some have more important parts but it won't run {let's say a coil, power pac...} unless all the parts are there and each kid on the team is a part of that motor..I have had to have this speech for the last four years I think it finally got thru... She has continued to work hard and gave herself a tuneup. Now she is going to be a part of a different motor!! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> All players need encouragement to do the best of thier ability. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink....Sorry to ramble but I do know how you feel, but we as fan's can change this...jmo

Senator, I do agree with ya on this one but by no means is she an underated players, she has above average natural talent. Born and Bred ball player......love watching her

Senator and Stang I bow to your proven wisdom. I would like to ad that the truly great player does appreciate the other players on their respective team. The truly great player will receive respect for helping, working with, and causing the others to play above their natural ability. And the final test is how much fruit is on the vine in march. not necessarly trophys but playing great team ball. keep up the great posts.

One of the MOST if not the MOST underrated player in the Upper Cumberland and District 7A is Kayla Kimes from Clay Co. Her teams haven't always been the best since she's been in high school but i have said it before and i will say it again, since Misti Maxwell graduated she is the BEST point guard in District 7A but her name is never mentioned. So because of this she is definitely the most underrated player around here. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Im thinking that Crowder kid iat JC s set to have a break out year. That is, providing that the transfers have not stolen her Playing Time.

Not a slam on the transfers, just dont know what the situation leaves for her.

Not sure about Miss Crowder or how she fits into the rotation but i do know one thing for sure, and that is i wish i had her brother for one more year!!!! /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

yeah, I know what you are saying!!

Im not sure how things are looking for her these days, but I know at the end of last season, right up until the beginning of the summer, she was being looked to as a person that could step up and make a big contribution. She still needs to do that, but Im feeling some of her opportunity may be lacking now.

Seems that Crowder fella knows how to raise them. He's got a couple of good kids from all I can tell.

Got to add my 2 cents worth here....Forrest graduated 7 seniors off the team, 4 of whom started on the State Championship team from 2006. With that being said, have to let the world know that Forrest is reloaded and set to make some noise this year........A lot of the ladies had the role of support players and now will step up in a new role.......Summer Waggoner(our lone returning starter) will as always be awesome in the post........ Beth Hawn, joining Summer in the post, truly a player to watch this year and only a Junior, she has sooooo much talent, Bequi Bussell, Megan Porter, Amanda Daughrity, Hailey Mathis, Thea Ledbetter, all seniors this year and any coach would want ANY one of them and (breath here /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> ) not to leave out a host of underclassman who have a point to prove and a new Coach with a point to prove....Forrest is READY....GO LADY ROCKETS!!!!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

why do you say not a slam and in the same sentence accuse her (only one new girl) of stealing, now gatorbill your better than that. No way I'm comenting on the transfers your boys team has been blessed with the past few years.

FYI for GatorBillMSU:

Players do not get their playing time STOLEN, and all players must EARN their playing time!!!! It doesn't have anything to do with transfers, and I can't help but think you made that comment to stir up trouble. Quit making excuses for players not playing. JIM BROWN WILL PLAY ANY PLAYER THAT WILL HELP GET THE JOB DONE. You can bet on that!

Gator I have been reading your posts, and I wanted to wait and see where you were going. I thought you might be above the manure, but you have walked in it to. It is not a slam on the transfers, they just are bad in your view, no matter the reason or hardships that caused them to change schools. Be honest, Jim Brown is the best coach in the state, you probably never attained much recognition and you just can't make a fair statement regarding jc or anyone that wants to play for them. what a sad world.

Gator I don't think you really care about the truth. The crowder girl in my opinion has excellent potential. She is being given every opportunity now to step forward. No transfer or paid player is blocking this. It is up to her. If any of the transfers or paid players prevent her improvement, or any of the other players for that matter, I will tell you. That is why other schools with good athletes, never reach their potential, they spend their time trying to stir up trouble rather than try to improve their situation. I hope this does ruffle you feathers, it is the truth. I hope uhs does well this year, and the other area schools also. This should be our hope for everyone.

    • The people need our help!
    • Lol when was last time they won region or got past the 3 rd round.
    • Gravedigger gotta finish filling the hole before hitting 40 East. May need a new Yellow Shirt play signaler on the Stones. And apparently a new strength coach now. Cicadas must've got shaken out of the bushes in Donelson. Hopefully the mower man sticks around to keep DG field looking pristine. Maybe new OC can call in a favor to his PGA friends that knows a thing or two about being green during the season. The heat is on soon. Bring in the 2 way freak Iceman and cool things off. He knows a thing or 2 about wildcats. Gotta take our talents South soon for Nationals. Don't step on my blue suede shoes.
