OK first word is from players (that I know), Sequoyah 3 tds, Coalfield O, a couple of fights. On another note, there was a serious injury to a Coalfield lineman, maybe a broken leg, keep him in our prayers. Another side note, J. Black was back on the field tonight, how did he look? Anybody got anything else?

J. Black looked really good. He broke one run for about 70 yards and a TD, N. Carson also broke a big one for a TD I think around 60 yards. The defense looked much improved. Intensity was high after the Big kid form Coalfield got hurt. I hope he is ok and our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. They did say it could have been a broken leg. If anyone knows please let us know. Tempers did flare after that and the coaches took thier teams to the side and had a talk with them to calm things down. Well it helped but play was still intense with alot of big hits. The offense looked good. Blocking on the front line looked good. We had nice long runs on both right and left sides of the ball. I seen huge holes that even my fat lard butt could have ran through. Our passing game was better as we completed some passes and had a drop on a 50 + yard pass. I think things are looking up and improving all around. They are using alot of people making sure they have fresh ready to go guys on the field. Keep up the hard work guys it all Starts in another week.

GO CHIEFS!

It's about what I expected. Coalfield can't even compete with a weak football team. I can't wait until Coalfield comes up to Oneida for their annual whipping. Go Oneida.

Your statement will probably be proven correct when Coalfield goes to Oneida. Too bad you guys have to open with Rockwood. Otherwise, you could be undefeated when Coalfield comes to town.

I bet nofida oneida wont even score on us. I bet before the game is over you will be hidding some where , so you dont have to come up with alot of excuses on why you were so wrong.---Go Coalfield---2008 REGION CHAMPIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Annual whipping??? Oneida has beat Coalfield one time in the last 5 years and Coalfield had them beat last year and absolutely gave it away. Yeah, not much of a year by year record I'd be proud of.

I must say with utmost certainty that ask_me is in NO SHAPE OR FORM ASSOCIATED WITH ONEIDA FOOTBALL. If Coach Lambert were to get ahold of him he would wring his neck out. Our apologies to the much respected Coalfield Football Program. Ask_Me is some rogue, clueless, and obviously brave young man that can do much but stir the pot, and I would think he needs to become very anonomous......quick. Lambert is probably seeking his hide as we speak!

Much Regards,

You make me laugh. You can dream about region champiosnhips, but we have a state championship in our trophy case. Go Oneida (1992 STATE CHAMPIONS)!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
