Check the tournament link, all scores now posted. The schedule was re-worked to accomodate Darlington dropping out. I'm sure the other stuff will be posted by tomorrow.

Thanks, I think I was looking at the schedule and right past the scores. The schedule was not totally reworked. We played Friday night and not again until 4:45 Saturday. I guess we will have to see what Coach OJ gets worked out.

Briarcrest - 2

Greenville - 1

 

Briarcrest got their act together and beat Greenville 2 to 1 with Briarcrest having numerous opportunities. Greenville scored their only goal in the first minute and then didn't have many opportunities after that. Briarcrest had one goal called back with an offsides call.

 

This was much improved over last year's showing against Greenville and all players received plenty of play time with one half primarily being played by the younger bench players including 3 freshman while six starters never entering during the half. All of the girls stepped it up for this game with good ball movement.

 

Score was 1-0 GV at the half. Last 20 minutes of the 2nd half played after 8pm in poor light on a field with no lights.

Briarcrest scored 2 late goals on GV's Sophmore backup goalie in scrums close in to the goal. GV's starting 2 forwards and starting goalie sat out most of the 2nd half. Briarcrest certainly looked sharper in the 2nd half though. Congrats on the win - it was a terrific game to watch

 

The game started about 30 minutes late. This is the 3rd year in a row I have watched a game at the Cellular fields where most of the second half was played in the dark without lights. It's not fair to the players or refs and is dangerous. Katie Hunter's organizers deserve kudos for another great tourney but please take a close look at starting times for those later games on the fields without lights.

THE SCORES POSTED ON THE WEB SITE ARE NOT ALL CORRECT. THE MCMINN CENTRAL VS USN SCORE IS WRONG, MCMINN CENTRAL WON THAT GAME BY A SCORE OF 1 TO 0. I AM NOT SURE IF ANY OF THE OTHER SCORES ARE WRONG.

FYI. Caroline did not play as she is out with an injury. Camilla, did not play the last game, she was hurt as well. Really strange? Of course the strangest is only giving St. Agnes three games. Very disappointing to lose by 1 point and only get to play three games.
