Does anybody have any info on the Mocs? How good they are going to be or anything else. I know they had a QB trasnfer in from UCLA, if he's going to start that should help them, because last year the game I saw they had 2 or 3 QB's rotating and none of them were too good.

The MOCS defense is led by the best Linebacker to ever play for Sequatchie County in Senior Josh Cain. Cain was picked as First-Team Preseason All-Southern Conference. He led the league in tackles last season with 144. He was a Second-Team All-America and a Second-Team All-SoCon honoree in 2001.

Doesn't his brother play at Seq Co? Jordan, maybe?

Yes he does! Jordon Cain is the QB for the Indians he also plays Basketball & Baseball (Catcher).:)

One thing that makes me mad is in some UTC media guides and newspapers reports Josh as is from Sequatchie,TN and not Dunlap,TN there is a small place just a little ways from Jasper in Marion Co. that is Sequatchie,TN

There's no question UTC would never have signed Gerald Riggs, but I am wondering how they let the "other" Riggs from around here slip away to Tusculum. Matt Riggs is a sophomore receiver from Rhea County, probably 6'2 180 in high school with very good speed instead of playing 30 miles from home he is in Greeneville. All he did the other day was catch 4 touchdown passes, with 3 in the first half if I am not mistaken.

I got back a little while ago from the game, and they won!!! I can't believe it. What's crazy is that they've won 2 in a row now. Is that some kind of record there. The thing that I noticed most at the game was how slow the UTC players looked, I've been to several high school, college, and pro games over the last 2-3 years and I've never seen a team look as slow as UTC did. #49 Josh Cain was like a one man team for the defense, he was in on almost every tackle. What makes him a good player is he plays with a lot of heart and doesn't stop till the whistle. I saw him slip or get knocked down and get up and make the tackle 15 yards downfield several times. He was a great player. I picked up a school newspaper there and saw that coach Kirkpatrick was out after this year.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
