Henry County puts a pounding on Westview. Milan wants no part of Henry County as Teague and Allen are too much for most teams to handle. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

that's hilarious!!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

milan is the best team in west tenn and i wish we could play henry co. to prove it. westview wins this one in a squeaker 20-17.

Makes me wonder as to why Milan wouldn't schedule HC's varsity team for the last 2 years (when we've been about as good as ever in school history), but will still play our JV team. No disrespect meant - I believe that over the course of HS FB history, Milan has probably West Tennessee's most solid, consistent progam - but they had no problem scheduling us back when we were stringing together seasons of 1-9, 2-8, 3-7 etc etc..

As for the game, I expect it to be a dogfight. Westview isn't gonna be able to match lick for lick on the offensive side of the ball, but if they are able to control the ball like they did last week then they might be able to pull the shocker again.

the scheduling will soon cycle back to HC. but like i said i don't want to compare apples to oranges anymore. let's keep this about HC and westview. i stand by my prediction that westview wins a squeaker.

What's up dawg??? Best in West TN.............your Dogs better worry about the Lions of Camden instead of etching their Legacy in some fantasy West TN record books. The Advisor will admit there are some folks talking out of their heads over here in Paris........but let's also be real..........we can have this discussion week 8,9 or 10 when WE ALL can really tell more about our teams and the quality of competition out there!

I think Henry County wins in a dominate fashion.

Milan has the richest Tradition in West TN.....Hands Down.

I really believe this Henry County team is special. This may be one of those teams that comes around every 10 years or so. I'm not sure anybody in West TN can play with them. But like I always say..that's why they play the games. We shall see!!! Just my opinion.

My Cavaliers were beat up on last year and for the first time in 10 years they did not make the playoffs. But we were still not a team that you just came in a beat. Westview will not be one of those teams no matter who they field. I remember when we played them the year after they were 2-8 in the season opener (2004). We went in there and they shocked us in the first half and we were losing at half time. We came back to win but it was by the skin of our teeth. so Henry County better remained focused. I believe all the hype about them especially with what they showed me last year. I think it is their year but they MUST take it one week at a time.

Milan = Tradition

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
