Does anyone know anything about the Single A bands that are going to be at Seymour?

 

 

Claiborne County

Oliver Springs

Smith County

Tellico Plains

 

Any info would be helpful as we are triny to decide whether to go or not.

Here is what I have seen over the past years:

 

Claiborne- Usually small. Alright single A band.

 

Oliver Springs- Won this class last year at Seymour. Very good for a sinlge A band.

 

Smith- Used to be really big, and really good. I believe they have struggled (compared to that previous comment), the past few years.

 

Tellico- Usually very small. Came in 3rd in class A at Seymour last year.

I know you are looking for info about single A bands, but what a line up in AAAA.

Roane County, OAk Ridge, Halls, and ANderson County. That will be a fun one to watch. I think Halls will win the class. Karns in AAA, Pigeon Forge in AA, and Oliver Springs in A.

I agree with brassman except that I think Central will win the AAA class over Karns, either way they both get trophies right!?!?!?!

 

As for the single A bands, I can only help you with what I've seen. I have not seen Smith for about 4 years, so to see them in single A is shocking. When I was at MTSU I saw them several times at different games and was always impressed the band and the drumline (guard let a little to be desired). I saw the Oliver Spings at state last year (that is if it is the same one that wore purple). They did a good job, and had a really good guard and drumline.

Great Website lots of information about the contest. I am with Polk County, one of the AA bands. Went to the Choo Choo last week to watch Hardin Valley - all freshman and sophomores, this band will be quite large later on.
