Good luck Basin. I taught at Basin for three years before transferring down to the "other" side of the mountain to be closer to family. We'll just so that I know most of the team from class. This has been a long time coming and I am very proud and glad to say that the cougars are not finished yet. Have a great game, wish I could be there. Mr. Cross

FYI Polk has 650 students this year. Basin averages around 275 with 7th and 8th grades within the building. I have been to both, and unashamed to admit it, taught at both schools. The schools should never meet in football again. The danger isn't trash on the field or other vandalism. The anger toward each other had gotten ridiculous and fights were beginning to break out. The game was stopped so that no one would get hurt. End of story.

Okay lets put this into perspective Polk Co. 44 - Tellico 0 Tellico 39 - Grundy 6 Wildcats easily roll in this one Polks defense is way too tough for Grundy Final score well, a whole lot to probably nothing.

Polk County will be competing at Seymour on October 4th, Alcoa on October 26th as well as Sequoyah on October 26th. . Busy Day!!! We are also hosting a band competition on October 11th at Larry Davis Fotoball Complex at Polk County HIgh School. A beautiful place for a competition. All small bands are invited. Polk County is doing Dreams and Proclamations, a concert piece by Roland Barrett. It is a definite departure from what we have done in the past. It should be great though.

I am one of the band directors at Polk County. I have seen and heard several good and bad things from McMinn Central's band. In my professional opinion, Central is doing leaps and bounds better than they have in years. I truly look forward to seeing them at this years game. It should be much improved and Mr. Walker is doing a fine job. If you have a problem with him you should take it to him and not try bashing him in a public forum such as Coach T. Like I said, I look forward to the new and improved Central Charger Band. This will be a good year for them with hopefully many more to come. If the band keeps going in the direction that it is, the band will build and those of you that are bashing the band will eat your words.

Basin is in Polk County, but is about 10 miles from north carolina and about 3 from georgia

Here it is, the first time these two teams have matched up in years what do you think will happen. Both teams are high caliber and are both forces to be reckoned with. Let's see what everyone thinks.

I am not from Bledsoe county nor do I have any ties there, but here is my suggestion. If you think Stone Memorial is going to lay down and let Bledsoe win, you are way wrong. Yes, they beat the at most lackluster team from Cumberland county. Note that Knox Catholic is one of the top ten 3A teams in the state. Yes Stone is new but if the Warriors do not step up their defense and move the ball with some major carries. I am not seeing this as a win for Bledsoe.

Copper Basin will absolutely be decimated by South Pittsburg in all aspects of play. Offense, Defense, it doesn't matter. We'll go with 70 to 6 SP The only way basin will get those 6 is against SPs third of fourth string.

Tellico over the last few years has not been a huge factor for anyone. They have won very few games but this year their coach has some new things planned I am sure. Tellico as far as size is smaller than normal and I am guessing that their speed isn't all that great. I know nothing of Gatlinburg Pittman so I can't really make any predictions.
