Why would this be the biggest ending season game in Hamilton Co. history?

It could be huge, no doubt about it. If the region championship comes down to this game, to the winner goes home-field advantage through 4 rounds of the playoffs -- right up to the state title game.

Still, the primary reason this would be the biggest season-ending game in Hamilton Co. history is because it would be occurring this year. Whatever is latest, is greatest. Just imagine how insuperable next season's week 10 marquee match up will be!!

Reread the context of my post in the other thread fsunoles since you decided to attack my post when I was defending your coach. The other Ooltewah fan was saying he was dissing Monroe and I said he had no reason to - as in I don't believe he did. They locked the thread so I thought you should know before you go off on a tangent that you read my post completely wrong. I thought it was a sign of I'm sorry or a sign of respect towards Monroe - just that one poster believed the opposite.

And secondly, i'm not sure why you're trying to discuss the rest of Farragut's season in an Ooltewah thread?

If he was nt dissing Monroe then who was he dissing? Ask Gatewood what the coach did cause he told Monroe cause Monroe was nt looking!!!!!! You didnt see it thats fine but dont tell me what i did see isnt true.

Whatever the case, the coach came to the Owl locker room and apologized to the entire team. That took a big man to do that....classy move.

He is a very classy guy. I spoke to Coach Monroe on Sat. He said the same as you did. That he came to the locker room and apologized. Coach Monroe said he told him not to even worry about it at all and that he had been in similiar situations over the years and the emotions and stress just takes over. Coach Monroe thinks alot of Coach Courtney and no hard feelings at all between the coaches just mutual respect. All this back and forth crap is from the fans.

Hey all this back and forth stuff is from the fans but you seem to go back and forth with alot of people yourself, i dont what the big deal is ALL I WAS SAYING IS WHAT I SAW THE COACH DO, i know he apologized but he did what he did and it s over. I would apologize to if i acted like that and he did the correct thing!

I did see it. It didn't look like an insulting gesture. I can see how someone could interpret it as one though. That's understandable.

The owls secondary tackled and covered well against farragut. If we can duplicate that against soddy, the owls will win big. Coach Monroe and the coaching staff are doing an outstanding job.Being able to kick the ball in the endzone and making a team drive 80 yards against our defense is a huge advantage, especially with soddys strong return game. John Long does an excellent job with his directional punting also. I think we will be able to move the ball on soddy and score. If we minimize mistakes and penalties the owls should come out on top. Soddy likes the big play, the owls must avoid giving them up and be sure tacklers. Go Owls! beat oak ridge & soddy!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
