My guess-2 regions West and East

West 2 districts

JCS, USJ, Rossville, Fayette, FACS, St George

SBEC, Bp Byrne, Harding, ECS, T-R

East 2 districts

Webb, DA, MJCS, Lancaster, Zion

DCA, FRA, Riverside, SAS, Ezell

That would make sense except it would be tough for both divisions with that many teams. Seems like they would have to split it up even further. Maybe 4 divisions instead of 2.

How would it be tough? The west region would have 11 teams, 10 region games for every team. Works out perfectly really. You could go like 3 regions of 7, BUT that will mean greatly increased travel for a couple of teams. Plus, a few of those teams will have trouble scheduling 4 non-region games in their area.

I thought about the 4 districts idea. With 9 teams in the Memphis area and 2 in Jackson that side could be done. The problem is the rest of the state. You have 6 teams in the Nashville area, 3 in lower middle Tennessee and 1 in Knoxville. To make it work you would have to pull a team or two from the Nashville area and make them travel while not playing teams that are closer to them. Currently you have 8 teams in Div II A and 9 teams on Div II AA E/M. The regions are even bigger in non football sports. There are pros and cons both ways. THis would have been alot easier if some additional schools in West TN had moved to Div. II.

By having 10 conference games, you would not be able to have any out-of-conference games, right?

Not sure about perfectly, 10 region games with no off games seems a bit much to me. I don't think any of the 11 West teams would have problems scheduling non-region games without extensive travel, they've been doing it for a while. Not sure about the Mid/East teams though.

I think I misread above. So you're talking about 4 districts? With maybe the top 2 teams from each district advancing. I think that would work, at least for the West.

You do not have to play every team in your region. They don't now in Div II AA E/M. They play 6 teams as set by the state office.

In Division II A, I believe you do play every team in your region during the regular season, which sounds different than Divisin II AA.
