A little statistical update for everyone. Last year Sequoyah was outscored 288-169, so far this season we have actually outscored our opponents 199-182. That is a very big improvement, especially on defense and if we could have back that ND game we would be headed into playoffs for first time in a while. I knew we would be more prepared each week but I didn't think we could hold our opponents to almost 100 fewer points. Great job players and coaches.

I don't think many people are suprised by this team's accomplishmnets. This season has been one that a lot of people around the program have been pointing to for a couple of years (largest and most experienced senior class since 2003). They were supposed to be much better. The real challenge (and hopefully it happens) is to carry that improvement into next season.

I think this will be a good football game. Both teams have the same make up. Hard nosed football players. Nothing flashy about either one, just good ol Fashion football. Should be an enjoyable one to watch.

I agree this will be a good football game, between two evenly matched teams. Looking forward to thursday night. GO CHIEFS!!!

I think with this new staff we should be able to carry it over to next season. Being competitive the last home game against Howard will hopefully help to get more players out.

I agree. Hope we finish strong at Meigs. It would provide good momentum going into the offseason.

This is sponsered by the Football Boosters and all money goes back to the players. Cost is $5.00 for : spaghetti, bread, salad, dessert, and drink!! /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

There will also be a drawing for 1/2 beef between 3rd and 4th quarters. Tickets are $5.00 and available before the game. What a deal !!

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
