Old Pirate was wondering about who would be considered the player of the year in the valley? This player should be recognized for his ability,achievements but importantly his influence on field and what he does for his respective team. There are many kids worthy of this recognition.

1. David Jones- very solid player and will make noise at the next level..Should be 1a Mr.Football

2.Tana Patrick-also a very solid player...as been fighting injuries..but still very productive...

3. Joes Muir-Is the spark of the warriors...has the skills to play at the next level...

4. No clue honestly....

5 Bledsoe-Chase Brown- has been the work horse on a team that talent cannot match his...

6. Zach Coley- very physicall ball player...has well over 70 tackles as a DE and still has one more game....Will play at the next level and be productive...

7. Trevor Holland- Has been a special teams master..returning kick offs all year.....Also talent is not that good around HIm...

I will say Keaton "Big Poppie" Jones for South Pittsburg. He is a beast in the middle and when he hits you, you will not get more yards cause your going straight down. So I will give a little love to the defense of sp instead of the offense.

I'd be willin to put Mr. Nick Wells up there as well 21 from marion.. He's just a junior but a powerful and speedy warrior.. Him an Joe in the backfield or returning kickoffs / punts is a scary good combo..

Muir for Marion-Jasper is a good player, but David Jones is the best player in the valley this season. Last time I checked, North Jackson was in Alabama so I wouldn't nominate anything from Alabama for best butt wipers.

Youngon, Old Pirate says you need to speak to ole great grand pappy. He'll catch you up on the SVC. The kids from Bridgeport still play in the middle school version of the SVC. Just for you youngon in case ole great grand pappy is not available. The 8 former SVC schools were Stevenson Ala., Bridgeport Ala, So. Pitts, Jasper, Whitwell, Grundy-Tracy City, Seq Cty-Dunlap, Bledsoe-Pikeville

I've said this before,this team is closer than last yrs.Stats have been forsaken for victory and development of younger players.No I's with this bunch.The D-line toils and makes it a lot easier for others to make plays.Keep the drive alive and keep pushing.The goal ball is still what you we be remembered for.
