Unicoi new coach?

So is the coaching search underway now or are they gonna wait till after the holidays? When are they looking at bringing someone in?

 

Here's the FACTS from someone in the school system. The head football coaching job has been posted. The Director of Schools is taking applications and resumes through Nov. 20. The Director and the board hopes to fill the position by the end of November. Several "homers" have applied and there are RUMORS of others from NE Tennessee and other places.

I did not say that a "homer would get the job. At this point my personal opinion is, and I bow to the higher authority, only GOD knows who the next head coach at UCHS will be. Several of us are praying that the RIGHT person be selected.

I remember some years ago they hired an "outsider" to take over at Unicoi County and he did good things there. Louis Thompson was his name and he went on to win a couple of state titles at Lincoln County after leaving Unicoi.

Graduated from there in 1998. They don't care about football overall. Some diehards do such as myself, but most of the town could care less. Baseball and Softball are the bread and butter. All hail the mighty Baxter! Basketball is key as well. They just have a football team, but they won't put any effort into it. They see it as a waste of time and money.
