I bet Alabama has some excellent middle school longsnappers. I hear they start 'em young snapping ping pong balls through their legs and move them up through tennis balls, nerf balls, and by the time they enter Pop Warner, there is a fierce battle for the longsnapper. So fierce, in fact, that they created a JV Pop Warner team just so more kids could snap... Sportsmanship. Take notes, alltherage.

Actually they start out with marbles in 1st grade and go from there.

Well I miss the "Football" posts by real GC fans and not the additions from "ahapless" and "alltherash"....who I think are twin brothers or at least kissing cousins. C'mon guys...if that is the best you can do the Bomb won't hang around and Eddie will leave too.

vandy1 and I have met a while ago....he just didn't know it was the Bulldog......I had the thought of a hit coming my way

I am still PO'd that Jackie Smith did not coach last week

I don't know who rage is, but we might be cousins, because I have a lot of cousins in Giles County. He is a Bobcat fan, though, and that makes him a good guy in my book. If the Bomb and Ed leave, I will think it is because we ran them off and that's fine with me, although I do enjoy their posts. I like the name you gave me Bullpup, and I'm sorry my posts aren't good enough for you. I will try to do better, so please bear with me. If you don't think I'm real Bobcat fan, come and see me support the Bobcats on Friday night. I will be on the teeny tiny visitors side, unless I can't make it on time to get a seat. Oh by the way, I will tell Coach Smith how much you miss him.

It's working out great! If you really want a comfortable seat come over and try the purple seats in the reserved section, i heard they are great.

Thanks to you Ed. This is nice. I just knew the wonderful people at DL would not make us sit in that uncomfortable visitor's section, because that is certainly not treating your neighbors, (Bobcat fans) as yourself. It is a wonderful and loving sacrifice for you to give up the reserved purple seat for us. We will hang black and gold blankets over the purple so that everyone will realize that we are Bobcats and that we have depended upon the kindness of DL fans like yourself, Ed. We may need to change your screen name to Ward.

Black and gold blankets wont be needed till saturday, that is when Vandy plays UT. Alabama is our neighbor, so we will be glad to treat you as such.

I've never understood the complaints about DL's visitors bleachers. Is it small? Yes. Is it ever filled up during a regular season game? Rarely. If schools would start travelling and it became an every game problem, action might be permitted by Metro. Until then, just bring some comfortable shoes or a lawn chair for the endzone.

As for this Lankenship kid, do you know what schools are the early leaders for him?

I'm not the topic and neither are you. Folks might take notice Bomb, Eddie and V1 are never on at the same time.

I'm positive both teams are focused on the game...lets try to do the same.

Actually both teams are highly focused on Coacht posts. Many great game plan suggestions have been given to the Lipscomb staff over the years through coacht message boards.

For example, they didn't realize they had to make adjustments, until someone told them. They also realized, through coacht, that they would have to stop the run. I'm sure coach mc is at his computer now, with a large tray of fried chicken, soaking in all the knowledge he can!

So to coach mc I offer this bit of helpful insight:(giles county coaches please don 't read)

gc will be trying to run, pass, and tackle. Also they will be making adjustments. please use this info to the best of your ability.

Yes it is in southern middle Tennessee and you are always welcome. Haven't you been to Pulaski, before? DL has played here, in fact, in 2007. Were you not a Mustang fan then? Who is David Lipscomp by the way?

David lipscomb was a hagas eating leprechaun who invented the modern day bagpipe. It is rumored by some that he also gave birth to the indoor toilet, (which by the way must have really hurt) and the backward lateral. Hope this is helpful.

ahapplet, in order to have amassed the incredible amount of football knowledge you have, you must spend countless hours watching the sport. Therefore, I urge you to take to heart the words of Jeff Fisher in that commercial where he throws everyone's stuff into a garbage truck... get out and get in the game or something like that. However, it is wasteful to throw away all that stuff in the commercial, so let me encourage you to donate your computer's keyboard to Goodwill.

On another note, how much fun is it to focus on the game on CoachT? Let me paraphrase:

"Our team is better."

"No we are better."

I sure hope focusing on the game on a message board doesn't replace a barrel of monkeys in the phrase "More fun than a barrel of monkeys"

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
