CAK should be a tough team....and stone still has some questions to be answered

They have some serious questions to be answered. I will say they showed great character and heart the other night to come back against Walker Valley. However, if they hit their wide open lay-ups then they would not have had to come back.

Also, it will be interesting to see how coach smith handles deficits this season. Hard to tell if it the coaching helped bring them back or if it was just the talent of stone. It should be a very interesting season for stone.

been waiting for this post. i'm a novice and don't know how this thing works. i have watched this district now for three years and seen anderson county, stone and loudon fight it out. last year i saw a really young atheletic cak team with a new coach start to believe and do some damage by year's end. this will be a tough district and any team that makes it out will be battle tested.

cak returns most of the team from last year, including four girls from the state champ soccer team and will be fun to watch. i'ld include them in any discussion of district favorites. hammaker was all district last year, and should benefit from a little better post play. good lock and health to all.

You are right, I enjoy watching CAK play too and Hammaker is an exceptional athlete who I feel will be much better this year. I feel the same way, by the end of the districts, dont be surprised to see CAK playing for the championship.

    • I think Alcoa and Westview are favorites in top bracket and Huntingdon and Meigs in bottom bracket.  Westview and Huntingdon both have great pitching.  I think Huntingdon has more offense than Westview.
    • Starting to pick up for Sam. He has 4 or 5 offers now and more on the way. By mid season the Warriors should have 5 or 6 kids with offers.
    • Gleason all over west Carroll in scrimmage. Gleason is big and fast
    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
