larry i like u but Kc was winning this game what would home field have done for white house ? can they only play good at home? i wouldnt think so bc there record but lets be honest they played good for one half but made a bunch of mistakes and catholics wingbone possesion football beat them and kept the ball away also the d steped up in 2nd half please admit your defeats

p.s. white house knew they had one shot and catholic wanted more . go east tn football maryville, alcoa, catholic

HOME FIELD DOES ALOT . THATS A SILLY QUESTION HOGAN. KC HAS A GREAT TEAM THEIRS NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. I THINK THE REFS DID A GOOD JOB BUT I JUST THINK ON A NUETRAL FIELD WE WOULD'VE WON . THATS JUST A PERSONAL OPINION.

I DO BELIEVE YA WILL WIN THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP NEXT WEEK. #99 LOOKS LIKE HES ABOUT 6 FT 8 . HE IS AN IMPRESSIVE PHYSICAL SPECIMEN.

KC HAS AN IMPRESSIVE DEFENSE AND A GREAT RUNNING GAME . I'VE HEARD ABOUT THIS EVAN SANDERS FOR A COUPLE YEARS NOW. HE'S VERY GOOD BUT I'LL STILL TAKE BOTH OUR KICKERS. I THINK EVERYONE OF OUR KICKOFFS WENT IN THE END ZONE. OUR KICKER AND PUNTER WERE SENSATIONAL THIS YEAR. OUR QB IS ALSO THE PUNTER . I DON'T THINK HE PUNTED ONCE ALL NIGHT BESIDES THAT 1ST PUNT THAT HAD A BAD SNAP. HE HAS A CANNON FOR A LEG.

IM SURE THE REFS MADE BAD CALLS FOR BOTH TEAMS. I CAN'T BLAME THE LOSS ON THE REFS.

AS FAR AS WHITE HOUSE GOES THEY HAVE A PRETTY GOOD AMONT OF TALENT COMING BACK NEXT YEAR. WE DO LOSE ALOT OF FANTASTIC SENIORS . BUT WE STILL SHOULD BE VERY COMPETITIVE NEXT YEAR.

IF KC WINS AND ALCOA WINS THE ONLY LOSSES WHITE HOUSE WILL HAVE ON THE YEAR WILL BE TO THE 2A AND 3A CHAMPION.

Neutral Party, Not affilitated with either team. Attended the game and here is my take on what I saw:

- I was surprised to see White House fans setting in Catholic's home section. I spoke to someone I knew that was affiliated with Catholic, asked him about it and he said that the WH fans got there early and he didnt understand why Catholic never ropes off their section. At half time, I was waiting in line and on two seperate occassions WH fans were talking about not realizing they were on Catholics side...as to apologize. I think they thought I was a Catholic fan, so I told them that I didnt care where they sat.

- The week of the AE/Catholic game and this past week I sat near Catholic fans/parents. This week I sat in three different places near Catholic adult fans and I did smell a strong odor of liquor at each spot. I was actually shocked b/c I have not smelled alcohol that prevelant and strong at a high school game...honestly I have been to hundreds of high school games and dont ever remember smelling alcohol like that on that many adults or parents. Only at UT games in the student section have I ever smelled alcohol that bad. Thought it was very inappropriate, and shocked that it was that widespread!

- I didnt notice any taunting during the course of the game, just healthy cheering....BUT at about 4 minutes left in the game, some coaches from a team near Chattanooga (they had their teams name and logo on the front of their jacket) got up to leave and I heard two different parents yell things to these coaches as the walked off thinking they were WH fans. A smart-elec "Thanks for coming" and "what's wrong the games not over." These coaches never said a word the entire time they were in the stands...it really turned my stomach. Later, as I walked down the bleachers I heard and saw other parents yelling at Wh fans "where are you going" over and over. It was pretty classless. I can see students and young people saying things, but the parents....Many of Catholics fans are very arrogant. I equate it to a player that has never scored a TD and once he finally does, he starts to celebrate wildly and starts to taunt his opponent...These parents/fans acted like they have never been in this situation before...and it really showed. It reflected embarrassingly both to the school, church and the football program.

-As I was walking from the stands, I saw the police escort the blonde lady from then premises. I also heard the students section saying "start the bus" and other things that I thought were pretty normal for the student sections to say...they seem to get a bit hype, but they are no different from any student section at any other school that has a good program. As I walked out of the gates, I noticed the police talking to the lady, whom was hammered, and yes she was sporting a catholic logo. After hearing what transpired, I am extremely shocked that the police just chewed her out and then just let her go on her way with her female friend.

- As for the game...I thought WH did a great job the first half of spreading the ball around and attacking all aspects of the Catholic Defense. WH QB was very good and has a bigtime arm. The Payne boys were quick and explosive. I was scratching my head when Catholic kept going with the 3 wide sets the first half...that is not their game. They looked alot more comfortable just running the ball out of their base offensive set, like they did well in the second half. Turnovers killed WH and Catholic must get credit for capitalizing on these turnovers and turning them into points... this was the difference in the game.

Thank you very much for the encouragement and I'm sorry anyone if I offended you earlier about the reading thing. I just wanted to address the alcohol issue. It is a problem for some of the parents as you have stated. It definitely was not the students though. I sat in the student area the entire time and no drinking went down. Of course like most high-schoolers, some of the drink, but they would do it after the game. The only drinking before the game they do is from the massive store of mountain dew. (CCC tradition) Some of the parents have started to do it apparently and I apologize for the ones who showed the extremely poor class towards the fans. That is really uncalled for and would just like to say that these are not Knoxville Catholic's best. I don't want there to be a stereotype hanging over the school because of a few. And i'm sorry for the hammered lady. She shouldn't have even been there... I know who she is and its just a reflection of.. well... her. But don't pin this entirely on the school as a whole. This is my last post on this thread and i just want to say thank you to white house. It was nice being able to play you in our final year in 3a. Get them next year.

by the way larry, your kicker is great. And there are alot of guys who can play football on saturdays. And to someone else, i believe you are allowed to chop block on the lines. This is 10 yards past the line of scrimmage. It's different being chopped when u are running to make a tackle then it is when you are coming out of your stance. Think about it.

I must start this explanation by first saying I'm not a Catholic Football Fan, but merely a regional rival. My statements are non-biased with only my observations over the past couple of seasons to reflect upon.

1. I think the real question about the liquor bottles is the name brand.... If it was a cheap name brand, it was more than likely brought to the game from someone other than a Catholic Student. Coming from a more financially privileged family and attending a 4th round playoff game, a Catholic student would have only brought dad's best stuff from the liquor cabinet. Also, it is more upscale, modern, and progressive to bring a flask instead of an over-seas factory made bottle that was purchased at a package store.

2. Spitting on a passing fan is hard to believe also. I would have thought they would have reached into their wallet, pulled out their credit card and bought you for being so cheap. Again... it is a different mentality when you're better than the working class beneath you.

3. I do believe it is likely that there was a drunk woman approaching and assaulting the visitors. Common sense alone would tell you that the Catholic elite have truly been taking a beating in the stock market over the last month or so. Other stress related possibilities... She doesn't have a fixed mortgage rate, her 401K is in shambles, and her AA meeting was canceled so that they could all go to the game.

Being Catholic you know... You raise helll six day of the week because you get to confess all of your sins on Sunday and start the week fresh again. No harm... no foul. Amen

Well, to answer your thoughts...

1) Catholic fans are intelligent enough (while sober) to bring the cheap stuff so people (like you) can accuse the other team of sabotoging their bleachers with inferior liquor...... Place the blame into the other team.

2) The spitting could be two things.... Even us stoopid WH fans understand it is useless to pull out a credit card in the stands...Where were we gonna run it??? It would also be useless for us poor WH fans to take it because more than likely it is maxed out.... OR, you were spitting because you were drunk and drunks have a tendency to slobber anyway. Probably just trying to talk but the result was spittle was flyin'...

3) Why your credit card is maxed out. Why your bleachers smelled of cheap booze. Why you are in foreclosure. At least when we smelled the pot at the Melrose game it was quality stuff....Orange Mound knows how to party.

Now, rub your beads....

glad to see the ccc is still there as one of the forefathers but i heard they call them them catholic cheering crazies? thats not what it means. i know iwas there when we (orginal ccc) made it up.like to see it has been brought to a new level over the years

As far as I know the CCC has always stood for and still stands for "Catechism Corner Crazies", and as you can tell from some of these posts they're still going strong. It really was a good game. WH has a lot of talent. Good luck in the future.

First - I am a parent from White House and most of the things that this person said is true. (I didn't see the bottles but did smell the smell and see the evidence of drinking)

1. A parent from KC DID grap the arm of one of our cheerleaders and push her over. We were later told that the mother had been drinking and was carried off the campus. Several times she approached our cheerleaders telling them what to do. KC cheerleaders found this amusing. How would you feel if your child was cheering and a parent from the other side grabbed your child's arm and pushed them over in front of many? In some cases this could be assault. Just think a grown woman assaulting a minor. This cheerleader happened to be a Freshman which puts her at 14 or 15 years old. This woman had to be at least 40ish.

2. Yes, your student section stood on the ramp and if you had blue on, you had to push to get through. Your students also chose to play ball in the parking lot around lots of cars playing music with very ugly words in the songs. I know kids listen to these songs but can't believe that a private school with a religous name would allow this on campus. I would also like to know what would have happened if a student missed a ball and it hit the hood of a car and did many dollars of damage? Who would have been responsible?

3. We arrived two hours before the game. There was a section that was roped off with caution tape. Caution tape normally means do not go in this area. The cheerleading section was roped off which would mean - do not go in this area. NO OFFICIAL from KC game and asked us to move. NO OFFICIAL game and told us the section at the other end was not ours UNTIL 40 minutes before the game. At this point, there were 600 plus fans there. KC did not even fill the section that was supposedly supposed to be ours. IMO all schools should have a home side and a visitor side. The only place we have come across this prior is at another Catholic school - ND - we did not have any of these problems at ND. KC officials had plenty of time to let the WH fans know what was going on from 5:00 - 6:20 and they did not. I was there and no official came to the area that I was sitting in and said anything. They walked in front of us talking on phones BUT never said anything until about 6:20. To the majority of people, roped off sections mean do not enter or in this case do not sit here. Remedy to this problem get a visitor side to your stadium. Are there any public schools like this. I know it would save alot of money for the school systems if we did not provide a visitors section to sit in and then gave the visotrs a small area to sit in and then tell them that they can't sit anywhere but that section and you can bring your chairs and blankets and sit on the dirt. Very Christian like isn't it?

4. Check the film on the post game activity.

5. We lost a game for many reasons and one of those reasons was KC's team. They do have a good team and when given the opportunities that WH gave them, they took advantage of them. That does make a good team. Were our boys upset, yes. Were they frustrated, yes. As would KC's boys had been if the score was turned around.

Now, I am going to get on my soap box, so bear with me. It is very hard for me as a parent to go to a game against a private school that is backed by fundings from a religious organization and see the things that I saw last night. We play schools from many areas during the year. We play good ole country schools and we play intercity schools. After last night, I will take the intercity schools anyday. These schools are supposed to be rough and tough and they are. They use language and gestures that many find vulgar but when you go to a school backed by church dollars and donations and see and hear the same thing, it is very disturbing. I know I am going to be blasted on this forum but I really don't care. Basically what I saw was hypocrisy. I know that no one is perfect. I guess I expect it to be different at these schools. Maybe I am wrong. I don't know. I guess I just didn't expect to see a drunk parent grabbing one of our girls.

Thank you for the compliment on WH fans. Most are very nice people who are passionate about their football team. I did not have the opportunity to speak to any KC fans but I am sure that most of their fans are nice and great to talk to. It is always sad when a few spoild the bunch for many (and I am talking about both sides because I know WH has a few that spoil it for us). I know that KC parents are passionate about their football also. I am very sorry for the seating situation but it should have been taken care of when we arrived NOT 40 minutes before the game. It would have been much easier to move 50 - 100 people rather than 600 plus people. IMO

I will not be pulling for anyone next week. Football season is over for me this year. I am moving on and looking forward to next year. Thank you WH boys for a great year. Hold your head high, be proud, yes BDP proud. I love you all!

First off, I am an Alumni parent who still enjoys going to all the games. We have played lots of opponenets from all over the state. When my daughter started Catholic, we were still in Division II. I have to say that this is the first time that I have ever witnessed such blatant disregard for other individuals. I got there 30 minutes early and found that Catholic sitting section was full from the oposition. We were told that our cheerleaders were asked to move from their assigned roped off section. This is where our student section and our pep band sits. I am unclear if it was fans or WH cheerleaders who made the request. That should have been a clue early on that you are sitting in the wrong section. Granted Catholic did not do their job and rope off sections with caution tape. Not that it would have meant anything to this crowd. I witnessed several displays of blatant disreguard for the welfare of our players on the field. I heard one gentleman scream repeatedly, 'RIP HIS @#$$$$# HEAD OFF!!! That is real classy and christian like. He was referring to #22 Dorian Cozart. We have played Livingston Academy many times and always had very good times with fans and players. Afew bad apples in the crowd does not sterotype us into a bad group of people. Drinking goes on everywhere, not that it is right, but I have to say that we have a very good fan base and our players and coaches are a class act, always. I am sorry that your team did not win, but I think that Catholic wanted it more, and proved that the second half. Needless to say the same gentleman who was screaming the first half, did not have much to say the second half. I feel that it was a very good ballgame and both sides should be proud of their team. Sad to hear that you cannot support us at State. Sour Grapes.

I'll admit, White House had a very, very talented team, and played as hard as any team I've seen this year. Turnovers hurt the Blue Devils, the difference in the game. I was at the game and the White house fans I talked to were complimentary about our school and fans. I know that principal made the KCHS students move who were blocking the WH fans in the stands. I did not hear of any spitting or comments being made to cheerleaders but if they did that's not reflection of the rest of the school and the students. People get caught up in the emotions of winning and loosing and sportsmanship gets lost in the equation. I was wrong about White House and I thought you guys played well. Good luck next year and that QB you guys have is a great player good luck to him in college.

Lucky Charm as I have said before in other posts, there was a sign that said Irish Students and a sign that said Irish parents, there was a section with nothing and a section roped off. Here in Middle Tennessee, roped off usually means to stay out. You say you got there 30 minutes before the game. We got there 2 hours before the game. We did not know what we would be running into on I-40 (UT/KY game, holiday traffic, etc.). We sat in the only unmarked section. I am sorry that it happened. No official asked us to move until 6:20. We sat there for 1 hour and 20 minutes before anybody said anything. Again, sorry. We were also met in the parking lot by students who greeted us with many greetings. Every greeting had the "f***" word or some form of that word in it.

No hard feelings on your teams part. No sour grapes on my part. I also look at it this way, if you guys do win, the only 2 teams we will have been beaten by this year are the 2A champ (if Alcoa wins) and the 3A champ. I will wish you guys luck and hope that everyone has a safe trip to the Boro.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
