White House @ Knox Catholic

I'll admit, White House had a very, very talented team, and played as hard as any team I've seen this year. Turnovers hurt the Blue Devils, the difference in the game. I was at the game and the White house fans I talked to were complimentary about our school and fans. I know that principal made the KCHS students move who were blocking the WH fans in the stands. I did not hear of any spitting or comments being made to cheerleaders but if they did that's not reflection of the rest of the school and the students. People get caught up in the emotions of winning and loosing and sportsmanship gets lost in the equation. I was wrong about White House and I thought you guys played well. Good luck next year and that QB you guys have is a great player good luck to him in college.

I did not hear of any spitting until I got on hear. I think the guys who painted were fine and showed school spirit.

Fortunately, we have one more year with our QB, Trox.

to the guy who complained catholic was too big for 3a.well i never heard anybody complain when you guys were beating them.plus you gotta go say something to seymour(a 4a school playing in 3a) and others who got by on enrollment due to the tssaa goofy rules.seymour had enough to be 4A the 2nd year in out of the 4 year cycle.they did not have a big enough jump to increase it to 4a thus played in 3a all 4 years.there are other examples too.not seymours fault.not catholics fault.deal with it.

THE QB IS A JUNIOR AND ALSO THE PUNTER. HE IS THE BEST PUNTER I'VE EVER SEEN IN HIGH SCHOOL AND I'VE BEEN WATCHING ABOUT 40 YEARS. HE IS A GREAT QB AND SHOULD PLAY THAT IN COLLEGE BUT HE COULD EASILY PUNT SOMEWHERE.

BUT THE RECIEVERS WHITE HOUSE HAD THIS YEAR WERE INCREDIBLE. HE WOULD'NT HAVE PUT UP THE STATS THIS YEAR WITHOUT THEM AND HE WOULD BE THE 1ST TO TELL YOU THAT. THE TOP 6 RECEIVERS ALL GRADUATE . BUT WHITE HOUSE HAS 2 GREAT RUNNING BACKS COMING BACK SO THAT SHOULD OPEN UP THE PASSING GAME AGAIN NEXT YEAR.

First let me say congrats to Knoxville Catholic for their win.

Second I think we have heard enough of the name calling, talk about who sat in who's section, who has or has not been drinking and who spit on who all this talk is very childish and detrimental to this web site.

This web site is for the discussion of the teams and players. We should all act like adults and show our support to the players, coaches, managers, cheerleaders, and fans that played and attended a very hard fought game. We should all be excited that we have the freedom to attend these games.

Again congradulations to Knoxville Catholic, good luck at the Boro. Congradulations to the Blue Devils on a very good year you deserved to win as much as KC did but it wasn't God's will this time.

Last but not least THANK YOU to the young man that was introduced at half time, sorry I didn't hear his name, you were the true hero this past Friday night! THANK YOU again for your service to our country!!!!!

Well said. Good closing to the thread I think. Move on everybody. This game's in the past.

crazybdpfan.

Not a Catholic fan, but certainly an unabashed fan of Knox area football. 1st time I actually saw Catholic in person this year was last friday. WH has a nice team, rich tradition, and are very, very well coached. Most of the folks know me on here as more of a Fulton patron than anything else Towards that end, I missed not seeing the Falcons trump Catholic after losing to them in the regular season. Couple things on WH. They will be back, and better next year than this. You'll get that with a very talented rising senior QB more than any other position. IMO, Catholic should have resolved the seating issue before it happened. Poor planning. WH fans, like Catholic fans, and most others, unfortunately get painted by the same brush of a few self-involved posters. WH fans that I overheard were like any other... Anderson Co, Fulton, Mville, Alcoa, etc. Good folks enjoying football without all the commercialism associated with the NFL or BCS. I've never written anything complimentary of Catholic outside of some of their players over the years. What they did after the 4 Scott County Cheerleaders were killed earlier this season was pretty strong. My sense is that WH would have done the same, as would most other schools. Couldn't tell you the kid's name that was introduced at 1/2 time. What I did hear was that he was a graduate of Catholic in 2000, I think. He was a West Point appointee, and picked up both a Silver & Bronze star for valor in combat situations. That ain't no gimmee. I'm sure both WH, and Fulton have produced the same caliber of person. The bottom line is that behind all the fandom, passion, etc; the coaches, administrators, parents, and communities are producing the type of kids that are capable of defending more than a goal line. They defend our right to type right here, right now.

ruse?

We were also met in the parking lot by students who greeted us with many greetings. Every greeting had the "f***" word or some form of that word in it.

bdp079, I was at the game on Friday night and saw a terrific high school match-up. I thought White House's football team was excellent and, by and large, I thought your fans were way more spirited and enthusiastic than Catholic's.

As is my custom, I spoke to fans from both schools, all of whom seemed to be tremendously supportive of their teams and all of whom seemed to be having a very fine time. The seating mess up was obvious and to the extent that anyone was "at fault", in my opinion, it was Catholic's mistake for not anticipating the need to be more prepared for such a great crowd. Our local rivals know the seating pattern in Blaine, but there is no way a team from Middle Tenn. would have any way or reason to know the customary seating pattern. I am sure some folks got bent out of shape over it, but they need to get over it and in the long run, so what? Everyone who wanted to sit, sat. The game was unaffected by seating locations and a great game was played by both teams. Late game extra-curricular activity sometimes happens in big games. Big deal. It ended as fast as it started. It's not like a gang war took place.

I'd like to be more receptive to the balance of the many KCHS mis-deeds and wrong-doings that you have recounted in your posts on this site; however, I am of the opinion that your stories simply have no credibility. Your statement that every one of the "many greetings" you received from the students at Catholic employed the "f***" word or some form of that word in it" is exagerated, ridiculous and, in my opinion, most likely without any factual basis whatsoever. That single preposterous remark makes every other statement you have uttered simply unbelievable, at least to me. I hope you enjoyed making your holier-than-thou, exagerated and shrill public reports on the game. It's too bad you didn't enjoy the excellent contest I enjoyed last Friday evening. You could have, had you not been blinded by your own prejudice, apparent hard feelings and an obvious attentional focus on matters off the field rather than on it. I know that school. I know those students. I am proud of both. What you stated above does not ring true.

This kind of spiteful, sour-grapes reporting should not be a part of this site. White House clearly has a great team and great fans. These posts, though, are sad--especially the one where you refer to the Catholic High School community as hypocritical. Now, if that isn't the possum calling the racoon narrowfaced....

Great post! I couldn't agree with you more.

The soldier's name is Capt. Greg Ambrosia. He is a 2001 graduate of Catholic and a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point. He was awarded the Silver Star and the Bronze Star for combat heroism in Afganistan. He was awarded the Silver Star for calling in air strikes on his own position after his men were being overrun in a fire fight. Here is a link to a Wall Street Journal Article about the incident: http://www.wsj.com/public/article_print/SB...7866949001.html

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
