As a mom of a teenage son I have to stop and express my condolences and prayers to all involved in this tragedy. And also want to take time to thank God for my son and remind him of the the dangers of "driiving and riding" with other teenagers!

I agree, I have two teenage boys, 17 and 14. They don' t understand the fear we have until they walk thru the door each time they are out driving. In fact, my son , as soon as he heard, He began talking about how great a player he was. McEwen had played a scrimmage game about a week before.

I know at times I would like to wring the necks of my boys, but I thank God for them everyday. I also try to sneak a hug when they aren't looking. My 17 is 6'5", and I am 5'11". I feel short.

I know we can't express our deepest condolences, just remember you have a network of sports parents that have surrounded you. Please accept our hugs, thoughts, and prayers.

      TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.

      stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
