There are simply to many to mention all, I knew that I would leave someone out, yes Gallimore has seen lots of playing time the past two seasons, got a little banged up this season, Finch is a definite talent.

I started this thread for talk about Henry County next season, not Oak Ridge, There is a thread for that. Thanks

What about the question that was asked about kicking and punting? Who is lined up to assume those duties, if anyone?

I Heard some rumors that yall had a sign in your school at the beginning of the season that said "The streak ends here".referring to maryville I assume...is this true?

While there are signs and banners all over campus with some powerful messages on them, the sign that you speak of doens't exist! Sorry!!

Although the Patriots are losing some very fine seniors, the outlook is bright for the Patriots in 2009.

Returning starters on offense include on the offenisve line, Dustin Kendall, Jesse Brewer, Will Jelks, (Andrew Jelks started two games in playoffs) Backs and receivers Lennies McFerren, Trey Tharpe, Skylare Haley, Deonte Nored. Other offensive players that saw significant time and the Patriots will need to have step up are Charles Barnes and Andrew Thompson in the backfield, Shonte Simms, Najee Ray, Jay McAdams, Evian Cook, Kye Meadows at receiver. On the oline Randall Dunlap, Cody Archie, Tyler Gordon,

Defensively returners include, Michael Miliken and Austin Bomar up front with Brandon French and Martez Teague at LB, Shonte SImms, Skylar Haley, Neal Capps in the secondary.

& returners on each side of the ball.

Although we lost 20 + seniors, I think that there were 34 + Juniors and several had significant playing time. The future looks bright and August will be here soon. Prepare to win now Patriots.

Coach Gaddis will rebuild them, he is very good at that....I am sure he is moving the depth chart around as we speak. I look for HC to be right there when playoff time starts...sometimes the year after great players graduate actually produces a better team....

Good post. Gaddis will rebuild. And look at 2 years ago, everyone outside of henry county was wonderin who was gonna replace calvin. And looked what happened.

I think it was warrior that mentioned it. I would like to see the sophomore play qb next year also. But I think shonte is more might be better overall. But najee will be a really good qb in the future.

I think if the sophomore is close to the two seniors, then go with the sophomore. It just helps you in the future. If the seniors (one or the other) are much better, then go with the best. One of the candidates is one of your best defensive players. Will your coach let him play defense, if he starts at QB? Which one plays baseball? Does that automatically mean he misses Spring practice?

McCadams plays baseball and is pretty good I might add. I think the question regarding Spring practice should be given to Coach Welp, the baseball coach. Opinion: if McCadams is not the qb next year...I doubt the reason will not be because he played another sport.

My point is simply that for the first time in a while, there will be some REAL competition for the QB job. If one of the primary players in that competition is not even on the field, for ANY reason, that will hurt his chances, if not eliminate them totally. I know from my years in coaching, that we always liked to have our positions filled by the end of Spring practice.

You may be correct. I guess it all boils down to his decision on what is best for his future. Im not sure if he is college baseball material or not, but imagine if he gets to go to school athletically, then hope he focuses on that sport.

My feeling is that if a guy plays baseball and misses spring practice and he is the best qb on the team that he will be the qb in the fall. If he is not the best it wont matter if he misses spring prastice or not. Its too bad though that any of them have to miss.

You know it seems to me that baseball is a spring sport and football is a fall sport. I know how important spring training is, but I do know that football is a couple of weeks were as baseball is for 8 to 10 weeks. Playing baseball for 8 to 10 weeks will keep JAY in shape for the fall as well. He did have alot of time playing at the qb postion, so he will be ready to play that postion in the fall. GO BIG RED.... /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
