Hes going, hes not going, what is the deal? As said in a nother post, this dont make KJ look to good, unles he gets the head job.

Pretty clearly not going now. What Pemberton did was awful weaselly IMO. He had to have been speaking to the Georgia school for a while. These things don't happen overnight, yet at the same time he's interviewing and offering the job to Coach J (and others, according to the Sentinel), who obviously had to agonize over the decision for some period of time. Then, when Julian makes his decision, the rug is completely pulled out from under him. Again, mighty small of Pemberton assuming that he didn't fully inform Julian about the Georgia possibility.

Nevertheless, I disagee that it makes Julian look bad. I would never fault a man for doing what's best for his family.

Agreed. Especially in this financial mess we are in at the moment. You have to weigh the best options available.

When was KJ talked to about the job, weeks ago, days ago or last month? Who really knows. What makes it look bad in my mind is here is his good friend and this friend did this to him. NOW, if KJ can take this happening and make himself the head coach at Catholic, I would say it makes him look pretty smart. You got to admit these things; 1. Kj gets offered the job either with a phone call or interview, 2. Thinks about the offer, 3. Decides to take it, 4. Tells coaches, players, principle what he plans to do(dont know if he did or not, but shoulda), 5. Finds out his friend and future boss is leaving for another job. When was KJ going to finish the deal and sign up? If he allready done so does it now make the deal no good?

And how do yall think this makes KJ look? I hope he never leaves Halls my self, but I know he dont bleed Halls red and white like I thought he did. Think about this one, was he going to take his kids to Catholic or have them go to school in Halls. I know they are elementery age but what happend when they got to high school, where do they go? Think about that?

The Catholic AD's brother and KJ's brother have been good friends since the old college days. JS and KJ have also been friends for years as well.

I know, how about if the AD takes the Head Coaching Job, KJ takes the DC job, and all are happy again at KNOX Catholic.

What ever KJ decides needs to be whats best for his family. Both jobs are great jobs.

Is it true that Clinton had a height advantage over the defensive backfield of Halls ?

12-2... got beat by clinton week 10, and again in the semi-finals. That's also one of only two times that the Red Devils have beaten Oak Ridge (just in case you were wondering)

Thanks for the information. I'm looking to see how good the teams that beat Oak Ridge were (back in the day).

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
