1-Ooltewah (can't wait 'til they play Soddy)

2-Soddy-(like Ooltewah, very big team, need to stay healthy)

3-Tyner-speed kills

4-Cleveland-have a great RB in Barber

5-Hixson-many returning players, should be a force to be reckoned with

6-McCallie-yes, they won state last year, but they lost many key players, should still be good though.

7-Bradley-have a great coach in Price, he won't stand for another 3 win season

8-Boyd-yes, they're a great 1A team, but personally I don't think they could hang with the teams listed above.

9-Notre Dame-great new coach, great skill players, lack depth.

10-Rhea County-good team, great athlete in Garmany, team needs some fine-tuning though.

Hey mrsoddydaisy, you're right, I might have 1 and 2 swapped if I was there. I think Ooltewah and Soddy are right there w/each other, we'll know more about y'all when you play RB on Thursday (heard you did well against Tyner) and Ooltewah later in the season, that should be a great one. I haven't seen Baylor play yet this year, just remember they weren't all that great last year, but we'll see. Tell Trey I said good luck and to not get discouraged. Good luck to y'all on your season!

Dice1550:

Don't be so sure that Tyner will beat McCallie. I think it will be a close game, but McCallie will come out on top in the end because Tyner will not have the stamina to beat them. They never do. They might be winning in the first half, but they will not be winning at the end of the game.

If this a true Chatt area top 10, shouldn't it include teams from North Ga and North Al? Makes as much sense as Sequatchie or Tellico does.

There's no good way to compare N Georgia and SE Tenn, since I don't think any of the teams play against each other. I didn't even hear of any scrimmages though there may have been some. You have games such as Rhea-Boyd-Buchanan, Sequatchie-East Ridge, McCallie-Notre Dame, Ooltewah-Red Bank to compare the different regions in SE TN.

Swamp & wrestler87,

Why would you put Georgia teams on a poll for Tennessee HS Football?

If you would look at a list of the Regions you would see the reason why Sequatchie Co., South Pittsburg, Grundy Co. & Tellico, etc.... is on a Chattanooga poll is because they are in the Chattanooga Region area. Sequatchie Co. borders Hamilton Co.(Chattanooga) if you look at a map! Tyner is in Sequatchie's Region as well as Polk Co. & Tellico!

Grundy Co. is in a Region with Walker Valley(Cleveland), Howard, McMinn Central & Sequoyah!

South Pittsburg & Whitwell is in a Region with Boyd-Buchanan & Lookout Valley from Chattanooga and Copper Basin in Polk Co.! :D

    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
    • Maybe OR will be, but Farragut, nah, I don’t think anybody realizes how much of a bad situation that program is in currently. I’m sure they will build out of it, but the next 3 to 4 years are going to be a long climb up.
