Blevins is not a good coach....YOU MAKE ME LAUGH with your comments!!!! Check his record and tell me he is not a good coach. I will have stats on Monday to back me up!!!! I'm off to watch the game now!!!

But he doesn't have a GOLD BALL>.. You get on here and Bash Coach Mitchell and your coach is basically in the same boat.. Well I'll take that back.. Mitchell has Silver Balls, Blevins hasn't came close to a title game...

I really have no horse in this race and frankly I could care less, but from the sounds of the Bearden/Oak Hill score, I'd have to give this one to Bearden. To say that AE could stay closer than 10 points against one of the premier programs in the nation that has more D1 signees on one team than most schools have in their history is a stretch. It surprised me that Bearden was able to, but having home court advantage probably helped, although apparently the refs didn't see it that way with the foul distribution. With that said, even if AE does win I wouldn't say it would be running away unless you consider a 5 or 6 point game a blowout, because if Oak Hill could only manage a 10 point win considering they shot a god awful amount more free throws than Bearden then I don't see AE doing it.

Bruce Pearl hasn't won a National Title either and hasn't come close to a Final Four or national Championship either....he must not be a good coach either.

I think all these guys do a good job. Ae probably has one of the best starting 5 in the area. The problem to me with them is the experience or lack of coming off the bench. They just don't have true basketball players with experience coming off the bench. Haven't seen Bearden but watcheed Oak hill on TV and they didn't look that impressive. Fundamentally sound but not overly dominating. Austin East did go to Arkansas over Crhistmas and beat some of the top teams in the south to win that tournament. I'm in east Texas now and it hit the news about them beating one of Louisiana's best teams. Don't know who will win but AE did beat Bearden a couple of years ago when no one gave them a chance. no pun intended. I heard the twins may commit in football to Prairie View A&M. Is this true.

They were in Texas Friday night and they missed the Seymour game to take a visit there.. Nothing is set in stone and they're still waving their options...

AE may win the state in AA, but i went to the Bearden/oak hill and my opinion is that AE will get killed againt bearden, unless Bearden has a let down after such a big game against oak hill, but to be honest i think bearden wins in all scenerios

So basically you all are saying Bearden will blow everyone out now since they're hung with Oak Hill? Is that what we're going to get night in and night out now? Come on now, I'll guess we'll just play the wait and see game.. AE needs to come into this game and knock the Bulldogs back down to earth.

Bearden better just get ready for the Press....They ddin't look so good breaking Oak Hill's and you know AE press the whole game no matter the score...

Mr. Veer, I must disagree on this one although I have enjoyed your posts from time to time. Pryor will be the best big man on the floor. He will D up Demonte better than anyone this side of Oak Hill. Pryor is unmatched as the most dominating player in the Knoxville area when he's aggressive. Not many besides Dawg fans or players would debate that one including Steele, Gallman, McBee, etc. Big twin is an incredible offensive rebounder and plays good enough D to give Parker and Jenkins trouble. Not saying he will dominate but he will do just fine. Chance is a flat out stud along with Lopez. Lopez has easily established himself as the best point man in the area this season and AE's backcourt is the tops around these parts. The difference in my humble opinion in this game will be Bearden's inability to handle AE's swarming pressure for 32 minutes. AE's patented 10-0 runs will be a little too much. No one presses the Dawgs because of their size and athleticism but AE can and will. I'm not saying this will be a blowout obviously, but AE is the better team. AE would have been in the state toruney last year in AAA and has an excellent chance to win AA this year. I'm looking forward to the game very much. AE by 3

Where does he say something about Mitchell? I think this will be a close one. By far the two best teams in all of East TN with Fulton a close third........

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
