Who thought coming into tonights game that Central would wrap up the District Championship. Aw man, what a game to attend.. But Central lead the whole game until the 4th quarter when Karns made a run... The refs were calling everything on Central and that gave Karns a chance to get the victory or make it close.

Ok whatever, but the last 16 seconds were the best I've seen in a very long time. Central down 1 drove down the court took a 3 missed it go the rebound drove to the basket missed it and BAM, Julian McBee jammed it in with 4 seconds left in the game... WOW... and that's how it ended..

With this said, Congratulations to the Central Bobcats for winning the 1st District championship since the 80's.

Yes a marvelous story. Already a plus 14 wins over last season. Except for one player they will all be back next year. They play with heart and passion most of the time. Their balance in scoring is the key---a different player each game. Big Julian was the hero last night. But all of the kids hit the offensive boards hard, and played great defense especially at the last when it counted. Congrats Central on the District Championship 2009.

UNBELIEVABLE!! Great Coaching!

How long is coach Mercer gonna stay there though is the question

If powell door ever open up is he gonna leave or stay at Central?

What makes you think he would leave for Powell? Central gave him his shot at becoming a head coach of a boys program he'll be there until they run him off..

I've thought Campbell County had a chance to make some noise all along this season, but to beat Central by 26 last night is surprising. I know someone who went and I had to ask if maybe Mercer was resting kids since they clinched, and he said NO. This does not bode well for this district in the region tourney. Still a great season and turnaround for the Bobcats....

After winning the outright district title against a solid Karns team it is obvious Central relaxed and did not answer the bell against CC. The same held true the first half of the Fulton game but in the second half of the Fulton game they played like they have been all year-solid defense and hitting the shots at a 50% plus clip. I think they will be ready next Friday in the district. They should play the winner of WEST and CC the next night for the right to advance to the finals as long as they beat Halls. I think you will see the district champs back to form in a rematch.

They have a well balanced team that endured with a 16 game district schedule winning some tough games on the road. I think they would be the favorite to repeat next year in the district again.

Congratulations to Dre Mathieu MVP of District 3AAA. Also Julian McBee, Teshaun Kelly, and Linwood Holloway on making all district!! Coach Mercer for winning Coach of the year. A note of interest: The Fulton girls have won the district 2 yrs. in a row with the group he had as Sophomores in '06/07. John Fisher (prev. Asst Coach) did a great job keeping everything moving in the right direction and he is also coach of the year in the 3AA district.

Yeah, I think they know they have everything in their hands now so they didn't play as hard the last few games... But I didn't know my little cousin, TaShawn Kelly, made all district... I'm proud of him hahahahah... How bout them Bobcats...
