Indian
Bledsoe won it by two, 64-62, after a wild last couple of minutes. Bledsoe led 18-15 after one quarter, Sequatchie appeared a little lackadaisical but picked it up in the second quarter, 15-5 for a 30-23 halftime lead. Bledsoe never quit and trailed by only 4-6 through most of the third quarter. Seq's D Cartwright had a nice shot in the lane to close the quarter, 43-36. Seq's Cordell made 2-2 FT early in the fourth, 49-40 but he fouled out shortly after that. Two of his fouls were pretty rotten calls, even a couple of Bledsoe people after the game agreed. Seq still maintained the lead, 58-51 with 3:30 left with 2 D Cartwright FT. Five point lead with 2:30 to go and Seq's Kiper fouls out on a charge call. The refs had to discuss it before deciding it was a foul and other such plays had been called blocking prior to that, for both teams, so it was a tough one to take at a critical time in the game. Seq still led 60-55 with 1:20 left then the wheels came off. In the last 2 or 3 minutes Seq didn't take as much time off the clock as the coach wanted and Bledsoe hit a 3, two-point game, Sequatchie's B Cartwright hit 2-2 FT, 62-58 with 50 seconds left. Bledsoe made a quick shot, 62-60, and after nearly turning it over, Sequatchie had an open player under the basket for an easy 2 but he was called for traveling. Bledsoe got the ball down the floor and a player drove to the basket, he hit the shot and Sequatchie was called for the foul, 63-62 Bledsoe after the FT. Seq missed the shot and fouled Bledsoe with 1.5 seconds left. Bledsoe made 1-2, 64-62, and Seq's Kilgore nearly had a Sportcenter highlight as a halfcourt three-point attempt hit the backboard and then bounced off the front of the rim before missing. Seq's Kiper, Cordell, B Cartwright and D Cartwright each scored in double figures. The refs did not help things but Seq still had a chance to close out the game and couldn't finish it. Give credit to Bledsoe for fighting back late.

Indian
The positive for Sequatchie, that made 2 of 3 for the year against Bledsoe in boys' basketball, and the seniors lost only one game against them if I'm not mistaken. I'll take winning 8 of 9 over a four year span against anybody.
scduke
Once again the Indians showed how undisciplined they are, taking wild shots and driving to the basket when outnumbered when they should have been running out the clock. I guess it is hard to concentrate when your coach screams at you constantly but never takes action. The Indians would benefit from a brush up on the fundamentals like passing to the open man or playing defense. The record for the season doesn't reflect the talent the Indians have. You are exactly right scduke, they are not team oriented, they lack discipline, and have way too many egos. This team has under achieved all year. There's no way they should have lost to Bledsoe. Unfortunately that's the way it always is with the SC boys team, year after year they have talent but they always play selfishly and underachieve. Someone needs to teach them how to play the game. scduke
your right once again, but that guy isn't there now. That guy isn't there now, he needs to quit screaming at the kids and start coaching them. It is shameful that the coach will go 10 feet out on the floor to scream at an inexperienced kid when he makes a mistake. The kid and everyone in the gymn knew he made a mistake but the coach had to embarrass him further by going on the floor and screaming at him. The referees should have called a technical for him being on the floor. He drains all the confidence out of his team with his huge mouth. If he can't change his ways he needs to step aside and let someone else "teach" those kids how to play the game.

You can teach them to play the game but that doesn't mean they will play it when they take the court.. trust me we know!! /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

After a game or two they will come around or they will sit. You can do that and never scream once.
Indian
It looks as if anyone interested in adding a comment has added it. They don't play again until Thursday, at Hixson. If Sequatchie hadn't shot under 50 percent from the free throw line they'd have won the game between those two in Dunlap so maybe they can get it together and finish the district schedule with a win.
