5A game o' the week

Well, the best I can tell, Oakland and Smyrna looks like a really good game. I don't see any others that look as good as this one. In middle TN at least.

How is this one going to pan out? Both teams can score, but can either one play D?

Anyone brave enough to offer predictions?

Don't have a vested interest in this one, I just think Oakland is a bit overated, and Smyrna has momentum.

Ok. I dont agree with your statement itzme, and here is why. i think oakland went out last week and proved they were a good team, even tho they were hit very hard with injuries. also, i have to think it is going to be a close game. i think, however, that oakland is more balanced, therefore giving them a better chance to win. also, i think oakland has a good enough defense, and secondary, to cause smyrna a little bit of trouble. i dont know much about smyrna's defense, but i just dont think they will be able to take 4 quarters of down hill, hardnosed football.

I'll grant you may know more about this than I do. All I've seen is Oakland in their last scrimmage, and some TV highlights on Smyrna. I wouldn't stake my rep on it, but I'll stick with the pick.

I KNOW that Oakland had an easier opponent in Glencliff, that Smyrna did with H'ville. Smyrna opens against a runner-up, Oakland against a losing team. Just a thought.

I think SHS may be able to pull this one out.

But OHS has a lot of talent and coaching.

I won't be picking this one.

Yea, i hear what your saying. But beleive me when i say this. oakland preformed 200 times better on friday night than they did in any of their scrimmages. Aside from turning the ball over 3 times off of fumbles, and a few miscues on the 2nd team defense's part, they played alot better than their scrimmages. I think you should come watch the game if u get the chance. your right, it will be a good game.

i have seen both teams in scrimmages against hillsboro and in what i saw i think oakland looked better then. But knowing it was just scrimmages and that smyrna was the first week of 2 a days i cant reall judge them but i would say it will be a very good game. I think oakland may have a better group up front.
